Muliplayer issues
Me and my friend are trying to play a game together using direct ip connection, however every time we try to connect we get the message "Game not found". Any help would be appreciated.

Who's hosting the game? Whoever it is - your router's ports are probably not open. The host must open up his ports if he wants to play the game.

This can be done by manually forwarding specific ports (the ones relevant for the game, at least), by activating your router's DMZ Host, or you could bypass the thing entirely by using a program like Hamachi.

Google any one of these solutions if you need further instructions.

Actually the host has to FORWARD the required ports (1630-42 in UDP and TCP) to his IP address in his router. All players must OPEN those ports in all their firewalls, a completely separate thing.

They need to get that metaserver up and working again.

It wouldn't help.

That's correct - the metaserver doesn't change the technical requirements at all.
