Mouse cursor problem

Im running CKII on a mac (Im also unfamilar to using a mac - lifetime windows user). When I load CKII, the mouser cursor is 1-2 inches away from the area on screen that the cursor is highlighting. Is this a known fault? any idea how to cure this?
