My vassals think I'm a foreigner
I'm a Polish duke... I'm taking a -10 opinion hit I suppose because my mom is Bohemian and my vassals identify me as a foregner. My real question is; what will the vassals think about my heir when he takes over? His mom (my wife) is 100% Polish, so if I'm half a foreigner, I suppose he is 25% a foreigner, but what will the vassals think about it?

it depends entirely on who raises your heir as guardian. Children will usually (not ALWAYS) gain the culture of their guardian. For instance, I was scottish and once had one of my sons go to a ♥♥♥♥♥♥, who raised him. When he came of age, he also had a mongolian culture though he was white and had a large, red, scottish beard. He was considered a foreigner until the day he died. However, I also took saxon children that I raised, and a couple years in, their culture changed to scottish.
Ah, that explains it, I've been having my children raised by any random courtier that has stats and traits I like. I guess I need to start paying attention to things like culture
It is also possible to change a culture back to the original (or to another new one). For instance, playing as a female italian duchess, I gave my youngest child to my Danish husband to raise as I was already educating our two eldest children. A couple years later I noticed that she had taken to his foreign ways, so I sent one of the other children to be raised by a properly italian diplomat, while I took the youngest away from my husband and tried to teach her right from wrong. Sure enough, a few years later, she learned to act like a proper italian.
Good guardianship is quite crucial to survive in the long run
