How do you figure out how many units are in a county's army?
Been struggling to figure out this game over the last few days. I've watched a bunch of tutorials and playthroughs, which have been helpful. Starting to get the hang of it, and playing Ireland because that has been suggested as an easy way to pick up the basics. However, my interface doesn't seem to be the same as the interfaces in the playthroughs. I assume mine is newer, because I just purchased the game. However, in the playthroughs you can tell how many units are in another county's army by clicking on the county. When I click on the county it gives no information on the army in that county, and I can't figure out how to see how many troops are in the other county. I'm probably being an idiot, but it is kind of hard to keep going to war by hoping I will outnumber the other force! Help, please!

I couldn't figure out the exact number either. There is a button on the county menu that shows numbers of levies from different places (castle, church, city) within the county. However, the number is always lower than the actual number of levies. There could be some multipliers depending on each place (castle, church, city).

You can also click on the ruler and then on realm view button, and mouse over the levy counter (top right of the portrait in realm view). This is not perfectly accurate though as it shows only their maximum levies at present - so if they've been depleted by war, it only shows what they can raise right now, not what they can raise in a few months when the levies have replenished.

Thanks for the replies, but I'm still confused. In the county screen, in the middle, where there is the culure, religion, supply, revolt risk, etc, right below the tax information (the little rectangle with the coins icon), there is another little rectangle. In the youtube videos I've watched, this rectangle contained a unit icon, and then the total number of units. In the videos people could hover over this and get more information. In my game the rectangle exists but there is nothing in it. Was this changed in the game for some reason?

Click on the army and chose reorganize unit. It'll show you what units come from where.
