Has anyone gotten this working under Linux?
I pay $50 and can't get past the language selection. It just doesn't seem to recognize that I'm clicking. No luck emailing steam either. Just wondering if anyone has this working?

It's been working fine for me; I've played about 4 hours and understand about 7% of the game so far...Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit, nVidia GX520.

i use it on arch linux 64 bits with open source ati drivers. No problem, all fine "out of the box". But i have previously installed somes missing package on my system for other games - penumbra and The Book of Unwritten Tales (32 bits libs version of freealut, glu, libxmu, sdl_ttf, libxaw, jasper). May be one of them is required by ck2 and missing on your system.

Works like a charm on ubuntu 12.10 64-bit using intel HD4000 graphics on an i5 ultrabook with 4G ram.

Heh. I did try another WM with no luck. Must be something unique to my hardware. Thanks guys.

(FWIW, since neither Valve nor the original developer ever replied to my trouble tickets, I asked AmEx for a refund, and they obliged. Looks like I won't be using Steam anymore.)

Best thing to do would've been to go to the official forums and post there. Steam can't help with these things since they are a retailer.

User error clearly.
See ya later, bud.

Also works fine here. ubuntu 12.10 on a amd64 and ati HD 4650, using the free radeon drivers. for now the only problem found is a buggy tutorial (some parts couldn't go to the end, had to skip those)

To be fair the tutorial is bugged in Windows too.

Linux for Steam is still in Beta. Not everything is perfect

the VM will borrow some of your hardware specs,
your graphic card might be the one causing it / (the devs might added some code that only allow selected graphicscards) just for testing a wide arrange of systems.
Linux System Requirements

OS: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Processor: IntelR PentiumR IV 2.4 GHz or AMD 3500+
Memory: 2 GB
Hard disk space: 2 Gb
Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 6750 / NVIDIA GeForce 320 / NVIDIA GeForce > 9600 or higher, 1024MB graphics memory required.

I only have an simple Intel GPU ... it can run Games like Faster Then Light (FTL)
maybe I'm wrong and this is just a bug.. but I'm sure it will be fixed if you can activate the "beta testing" and subbmit a bugreport to the devs
... not sure how. but there is gotta be a way.

Just following up, I never did get any feedback on the bug. Similarly, Valve never responded to American Express's inquiry, so the refund went through. I think I'll stick to Humble Bundles.
