CTD when pressing Religion tab

I haven't had any problems with the patch until now. When I press the Religion tab I CTD immediately. Please tell me I haven't lost my game I had just unified Ireland last night and if its hosed I'm going to be an-feargach!

I am having the same problem. Funny enough, I was in the process of unifying ireland, and was not experiencing this apparent bug until about half an hour ago. Clicking the Religion tab is consistently crashing the game; I have tried several times to be sure. I will experiment to see if it crashes on other pre-existing saves, new ones, etc to see how widespread the problem is, and report back here.

The crash seems to always occur when opening the Religion tab, regardless of context. Hopefully Paradox will hear and patch it up promptly once they figure out what's causing it; i imagine there will be a lot of noise about it soon.

Yep, having the same problem, playing as an irish leader. Probably has something to do with the new patch.

Okay, so far this only happens for me if my leader has been excommunicated. Under intrigue there are a couple options that can lift your excommuncation, without having to gain favor with the pope. Once I got that taken care of, religion tab works again.

I first noticed it after excommunication, but lifting excommunication via declaration of repentance did not fix it for me. It also is happening on pre-existing and newly created saves, so your case may be different from mine somehow.

Same problem on every save. If I make a new game save it close out, come back load it, the game will crash as soon as I click the religion tab. Doesn't seem to depend on what religion I am either.

Running Windows 7, no mods, no Charlemagne DLC, I am getting this problem as well. The game also appears to be crashing at random during play even when I don't press the religion tab. I have not been excommunicated and I am playing as Sweden.

What shocks me about this is that I can't seem to access any forums on Paradox's site, even to read, without registering an account with Paradox. I have seen NO developer presence outside of their own forums. I have no apparent ability to revert to a previous version.

I bought this game during the Steam sale knowing that I'd appreciate the gameplay, but I was completely unprepared for a broken patch and an utter lack of communication from the developer two weeks later. I was interested in trying some of their other products as well, but this situation has certainly dampened my enthusiasm in that regard. I'm just thankful I hadn't been playing a mod or an ironman game for weeks or months only to have it broken by the patch, like some others on Steam appear to have.

I'm getting the same isssue as the King of England. On decent terms with the Pope and currently involved in a war against the Anti-Pope in Spain. Must be something in the patch.

I'm in a game as Petty King of Mumu within Ireland (name change after the update!) and I'm getting the same issue. Just made a topic and then noticed you guys having the same issue. I currently have no mods whatsoever. It's the base game. I don't really want to play on yet due to the fact I like keeping tabs on everything and one button crashing it all. I'd also prefer to keep my save safe for the time being just in case it gets a tad worse!

Hopefully there's a fix or there will be one soon for it.

Delete the game files and install it outside of c:x86 or how it calls....
the save game keep alive.
I do that and it works had same problem with "religions" button.
But i delete my old save game too.....
Dont know it works with the old....worth a try.
