Is there a way to accelerate culture assimilation/changes in a county?
I'm an Italian Roman emperor, to understand the size of my empire, I have all de-jure Roman territory, Italy, half of Syria, Jerusalem, Egypt and Africa. Somehow, my culture spreads fast in the Levant, Egypt and Africa, but the Greeks are not going away. Its been like 100 years now, and not a single change of culture in the Greek area, except some parts of northern Sicily. Is there a way to accelerate the culture assimilation?

Yeah I did. All of my vassals that were Greek are replaced by Italians.

Generally, it does in fact take a long time, and is for the most part random. The culture change mechanic relies on the current county owner's stewarship being at a high amount. The higher the stewardship of the owner, the higher the chance it will switch to the owner's culture. And so, try and get vassals with high stewardship, and perhaps even try educating their heirs with someone with high stewardship if possible. Beyond that I don't think there's anything you can do.

Before usurping the empire, the ruler was a Greek Makedon. And the Greeks managed to spread their culture all the way to Syria in 15-20 years which is really fast. So kinda makes me wonder why its taking so slow with the Italians. :s

Anyway thanks for the tip.

this game is entirely chance based when it comes to event popups even assassination attempts through the plot option are chance based.
