Is breaking a truce actually worth it?

Backstory: I'm the Zoroastrain king of Khiva. The year is 920, and through shrewd planning and guerilla tactics, I have managed to obtain all of the de jure lands in the kingdoms of Cumania, Alania, and Turkestan. I also own one fourth of Persia.

Question: The Abbasids to the West are embroiled in a multitude of wars. I would like to press my advantage against the Saffarids (Persia), while the Abbasids are distracted. However, I've already pressed my advantage against the Saffarids... TWICE. Is breaking the truce a second time and losing almost all of my prestige actually worth it?

i d say only if you play...zoroastrian
it s tough to be zoro and you have to grab every opportunity to take the upper hand

but

beware, crappy prestige will just make your muslim neigbours despise you more, hence giving them additionnal reasons to invade you

it all depends on waht you ll actually gain, if it s only one duchy, it might not be enough, if it actually destroys the abassids or saffarids or makes them really weak, go for it

It will not destroy the abbasids. It won't even affect them (I'm relying on their current wars for that). It will significantly disempower the Saffarids, however, and if I can get two more duchies i can usurp his title and the realm will fall apart into a collection of independent duchies.

As for what I'm trying to achieve, I want to become Saosphyant (Emperor of Persia), and also restore the high priesthood (also need to be emperor of Persia).

i d give it a shot if i were you, the time seems right(i just hope you ahve a nice treasury and a solid "king")

Thanks A LOT. The Saffarids fell apart, I formed the Kingdom of Persia (excuse me, "Shahdom"), and am now cleaning up all of the tiny independent dukes with de jure claims. The Abbasids, if I ever go to war with them, won't stand a chance. My max army size is 15000, and my treasury is around 2000. I really appreciate your advice!

well if you get low on prestige just murder wife and remary for another prestige boost
