A lot of text missing
I first run the game with Polish enabled, but A TON of tooltips and descriptions were missing. I couldn't find any solutions online so I switched to English. That's not much of a problem cause it makes it easier to use guides and wikis I find online.
But lately I've been encountering a lot of missing text in the English version. Most commonly in the Technology tab. When I hover over the magnifying glass it says NO_TEXT_ FOR_something something. I've been seeing similar messages in other areas too but not consistently.
Is this a know issue ? Any fixes ?

maybe try validating the files through steam? i cant think of what would be causing that other than missing or corrupted files. i havent noticed that problem in my game. i guess you could wait until the next update and see if that fixes it

The Polish edition comes from Cenega and is famous for this problem. You need to contact them for fixes.

That's one of the reasons I'm NOT playing the Polish version. Please read more carefuly.
Tried validating files - didn't help.
This mostly affects the 'magnifying glass' buttons on the technology tab or certain or House names. Like it will say ' ... and 0 prestige for marrying into NO_TEXT_FOR_HOUSE' or something similar.
I really need to start making screenshots.

Do you get the right version # and checksum? If you don't see 2.0.4 FCUV you need a full clean re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "delete local files" in Steam
- manually delete all files and folders left under Steam/CK2 AND Documents/CK2
- re-install game in Steam, run a verify when done.

I did a clean install but it didn't help. Same pieces of text are missing. I'm using Windows 7 x64 and running the latest version of the game (2.0.4 FCUV). I couldn't find 'Steam/CK2' folder. I assume you meant '.../Steam/steamapps/common/Crusader Kings II' that folder is deleted when you uninstall through steam.

That folder needs to be blank, AND you need to delete the other one I mentioned under Documents, before re-installing.

It was completely gone after i uninstalled the game.

On re-reading: Since you played in Polish originally, you DO have the Cenega edition. You need to switch the game language to English in Steam, not just in the game. From the user who discovered this on the Paradox forums:

Changing language in game option does nothing because the localisation files stay the same. So the bug was in all the language in this localisation ( polish ) even in english. I change the localisation to english in steam options ( right click on game and chose language tab ) . Steam updated the game with new localisations files and the bug disappeard.

So the problem is with polish/other than english localisation.

Here we can get newest official Polish language patch:

It worked ! This never occured to me. Thanks a lot. Hard to tell who is to blame for this so I blame Cenega. They're always guilty of something anyway.
