Trade practice technology?

Hello, Im emperor of Britannia right now, and the only technology in my capital that is still really low is the Trade Practice technology. Since I dont have any trading posts and I am not a republic, is there any reason why I should spend points in the Trade Practice technology?

Maybe when you have some Grand Mayor/republic guy on the Duchy level, then amount of cash you're getting from him is probably getting a bit bigger. It's the only thing that may matter for you, but don't quote me on this :P
