My regent doesnt make any sense.
I'm currently sitting in the regency punishment phase and my regent, despite having a 100 opinion of me refuses to approve of anything sighting low opinion of me. Whats all that silliness about?

Its traits which are most important not opinion. So a greedy regent wont let you give gifts, wroth/cruel lets you war whenever and so on. That combined with which of his stats are good. High diplo for diplo decisions, marshal for war and so on. lastly if he is landed it stuff most of your abilities and he will actively work to reduce crown authority.

Yes regents suck, make sure to designate a good unlanded family member regent with no claims before you die.

dynasty will still plot to lower crown authority, dynasty=claims=landed for regency decision weighting. Seriously warlord, I really like how you chime in and are really getting into helping people with things but. just a little more research first :)

@Rhod, its depends how old your dynasty is. After 3 generations its possible to get entire wings of the dynasty with no claims. The is of course if you let them survive or the computer doesnt spread disease into your realm to reduce your court below 40.

I did say someone without any claims, like I said it right after family member. Family members will naturally have a better opinion of you and be less likely to depose you than a random person as long as they have no claims. You can also easily get family members without claims on your land if you are not starting as a King or Emperor. As a Zorastrian I routinely will have many family members with no claims on the Persian Empire because they are part of a branch of the family that was given land before I became Persian Emperor.

@ Rhodry - Like if you are going to bash my advice please bother to read the entirety of the short sentence that I have written. I was giving the ultimate option obviously you can't make anyone with claims a regent, hence why I said it.
