0 to 3000 A.D.
Why don't they make a game that covers the past and the feasible future instead of specific age interval?

I think that different ages would require different mechanics, and putting all the required mechanics in a single game would prove difficult, and also because they get more money this way.

Because they can't put other planets in the map.

There is the Civilization series. but I get the feeling that you're referring to a game with that span made in this style

Are you talking about in general? That's just what Paradox does, most of their games focus on specific time periods...

I would think it works better that way, CKII's system wouldn't really work when people were mostly small tribes or when things like democracy start popping up.

i dont think it would be possible because there would have to be so many different mechanics nations and features.
Maybe in the future we will get a game set from 100-700ad which we could port to crusader kings 2 and so on :P

Civilization is great for what it is but it doesn't handle the time periods you go through indepth or with any authenticity like CK does You pretty much want a game like civ.

Because most era's wouldn't work with the current mechanics. You can already export your game to EU4 to continue playing and I have a gutfeeling the same will happen to Victoria3.

Except the exporter is buggy and doesn't convert all cultures & religions which makes it useless.

You think a large game would be less buggy and prone to using all cultures? You just get less cultures from the start :P

Or the could make the different time era's... just make all the saves exportable so you can expand threw all the years..

This isn't Civ.

Why don't you make a mod?

if you get the no religion/ no culture bug then simily use notepad ++ to go in and replace all the no religion/no culture entries with valid ones. And then load it up and see religion/culture maps in the import are right. I doubt u find english in india or something like that so you would have to go to that county and match it to something next to it.

I wish Paradox could make 1 ultimate game, all of their games in 1. Eu Rome 280bc to something ad, Ck 870 to 1400, other Eu games 1400 to 1820, victoria 1836 to 1935, hearts of iron 1938 to 1946?
They should combine all these games, and fill in the gaps :) 280bc to 1946. They should do this... whos with me!?

No thanks, I enjoy getting a wide set of diverse mechanics for each era, and I think that 3000 years, played day-by-day (even if it's one second each) is just too much.
