Holy Crusade ☩ Help me get started :)
The game looks incredibly deep and I'm sure it will be quite some time before I figure out all the little secrets hidden away in the menus.
So on that note could I get some advice on the best way to start my Crusade of on the best foot?
Can I start from Britain?
I have these DLC:
Monks & Mystics
Sons of Abraham
Way of Life
Charlemagne
Ruler Designer

Man, you are taking this game way too seriously.

You can go nuts crusading from everywhere on the map as long as you belong to the religion. Just keep in mind that going to war is pretty expensive for small/new rulers and it may do more harm than good depending on your location (you see, sending your whole levy to fight some random war far far away is not the brightest idea to say the least).

Thats why im asking for advice my friend, im not expecting just to march off to war on the first turn :)

The holy roman emperor in 1066 is the best start if you want to focus solely on the crusade that the pope will call a few years later.
Many thanks MrR. Will I need the Legacy of Rome DLC for this?

No. You can play as the holy roman emperor without the DLC.
Epic, many thanks brother. Ill jump into the game now and see what delights it has to offer :)

I am playing the tutorial (Still reading all the menus at the moment) as King Alphonso VI of Leon.
I can already see the that I have no choice but to push the infidels back across the water and liberate the peninsula and Cadiz as my first Holy mission ☩ :)

Its already on my border. My border guards were just attacked by a blasphemer screaming jibberish who tried to run them down in a heavy donkey cart. He was defeated using our latest God-given long-range weaponry. The infidel and his donkey were both peppered in arrows before they could cause much damage.
