Only little window works
I'd like some help getting this game to work properly.

GTX 460 1GB
8GB of RAM
1920x1080 monitor

The game only works in a little window and I want it to be fullscreen. But every time I try setting it to fullscreen, it says "failed in the display mode setting." I also tried 'zoom mode' and it says the same thing.

I even tried changing my monitor display to 1280x960. It still says the same thing."failed in the display mode setting." Also, one person says the game is rendered at 640x480. My control panel warns me that it can damage my monitor. I doubt it, but I don't want to mess anything up.

I need help getting this to work.

I spent an hour or two messing with crap

I used the freeware JoyToKey to set the arrow keys to my digital pad of my Xbox 360 controller. (just find the POV arrow keys and set them to the keyboard's arrow keys. You can also set Enter key as Start button, which is 'button 8'). This is much better and you double tap to dash. It's a shame the game uses the analog pad, because that's a joke. No wonder everyone is complaining about the horrible controlls of this game.

Hope that helps someone

Only way to play is in a Window. Any help?I tried compatibility mode "run this at 640x480 resolution", but for some reason the game runs at 2 frames per second in fullscreen, despite all efforts to fix that.

Yeah, it is wierd. This is the only game out of my nearly 400 Steam games that doesn't work right, other than Robin Hood, which didn't seem like a game worth playing anyway. I'm not sure what I can do.

I just tried 1680x1050 and it didn't help. That's a 16:10 monitor though. I wonder if anyone else with a 16:9 monitor like mine is able to get it to work properly.

Honestly, it seems like it's not using the video card when I managed to get it working in fullscreen mode. But I don't see any 2D settings in Nvidia control panel.

Yea I still haven't figured this out. I tried changing the nVidia settings to that the .exe only will use one monitor but that didn't help any.
I'm out of ideas.
If you could stretch the window (in windowed mode) it wouldn't be such a big deal but 640x480 is pretty tiny now-a-days. :/

I solved the problem. To get full screen to work on Windows 8 all you have to do is set compatibility mode to Vista Service Pack 2. As for the analog issue with a controller, you just have to use your keyboard to change the sensitivity to something else on the list and it will stop functioning wrong, and then you just set it to what ever sensitivity you want. You only need to do this whenever the game is installed on a new system.
