Now I have been struggling with the framerate like many others when playing fortune summoners on windows 8 with an AMD graphics card, it only runs smoothly in windowed mode but the window is tiny especially on my 1920x1080 monitor, but I have figured out a workaround solution to full screen windowed mode.

First things first, you need to find the original application that runs the game since it won't give you the option with shortcuts, so go into your pc and find the driver your steam library is in, go into the common folder and open the fortune summoners folder, the original application is called sotes and have a grey diamond icon, right click, click properties and click the compatibility tab, you'll see some checkboxes at the bottom, check the box that is "run in 640x480 screen resolution". When you open the game, your monitor resolution will change to 640x480, open in windowed mode and the game box will fill your screen effectively being full screen. Do not worry about your monitor resolution, when you close the game it'll return to normal.

The only downsides are you may struggle to do other things on your computer and you will lose the bottom of the screen, you won't be able to see who you are travelling with or how much money you have.
