King's Bounty: Warriors of the North

King's Bounty: Warriors of the North

State of the game today?
I realize the developers have been hard at work for some time now correcting the many issues this game unfortunately shipped with. The question I have is how is the game today, following this most recent patch of January 29?

Is the game in a fully playable, completable, enjoyable state at this point? Are there any substantial issues still outstanding anyone is experiencing?

Thanks very much for any feedback. I've been holding off on this game while waiting to see how the fixes to it proceed. So I've gotten to wondering if it is good enough now.

I too want to know as I havn't played this game since launch day after I crashed to desktop and then heard that you need to make a new game for many of the fixes to work! Future King's Bounty games very much need to fix this save game nonsense and I hope Warriors can get all its issues fixed so I can actually fully complete it without worry of missing quests due to bugs and game ending crashes.

I love King's Bounty games and I have Legends, Armored Princess, Crossworlds and now Warriors of the North. I very much hope we can see a King's Bounty 2 with a new, more advanced graphics engine and a new adventure!

Not sure if it will be bug free if I start a new saved game but the release seems to have stopped my ability to continue my last saves in Demonis... frustrating... The character moves but the screen stays locked in place. Also, one of the Valkyrie skills, Christa's Gift appears to be broken too...

I've not played for very long, but so far I've noticed that the luck rune doesn't do anything and no enemies ever go for the pile of gold ability.

As for crashing, good news: only crashed twice. Bad news: once was soon after today's patch, which has made the game very slow to load, even from an SSD.

As of latest patch (29.12013) I have constant game hangs during battles (at Dragon Necromancer, on Iceland currently, 9/10 times game stops responding in round 3...on 1/10 later in battle). Tried skiping the quest and doing some other stuff, but the hang durring battles is allways there.

Really disapointed bacause I am near the end of the game and didnt have any serious problems until now - but this one seems to be a game stoper. Lates patch seems to have broken the game for me.

Cheers.

leon1309, could you please send the save just before this battle or during it to Yuri.Miroshnikov@1C-SoftClub.ru ? This would help greatly in fixing this new issue. Sounds like one of your own troops is causing it.

After that, you can right-click on the game in Steam library, choose Properties, go to Beta tab and choose 'dec19build' to temporarily revert to the previous version of the game so you could finish your playthrough while the developers fix this bug.

I have these exact same problems

I defnitely noticed it was slow to load from my SSD, which was crazy. Most games load so fast I don't have time to blink. On this one I had to make sure it was actually installed on my SSD and not my other drive because it was going so slow to load.

I'm tired of waiting for this game to become bug free enough to be worth playing.

After the most recent patch was released I was about to finally start playing it (I bought it as a pre-order in order to support the developers). Now I read about more bugs introduced in the latest patch, and the bugs seem to affect important parts of the game.

So I will continue to wait for a patch that doesn't introduce significant new bugs. And naturally I will never again order a 1C game at full price or anything close to full price.

Fair enough malcolmmackay224, I'm about to do the same.
I really am a fan of the series but I have yet to finish a playthrough because of all the bugs out there. Now that all monster just ignore the pile of gold my latest attempt at finishing the game once more just died. Regarding how long this game is out now this really has to be a sad joke...

Sad. I hope the developers prevail yet over the remaining bugs and everyone can enjoy what could be an excellent game without the issues. I just bought a Steam key in an indie bundle inexpensively, so I'll hold on for more patching with hopes it becomes possible to enjoy and finish the game. At least I am not out much if that fails to happen but it will affect how I purchase in the future, one way or another.

I own all the other KB titles, I also played the original KB extensively. I didn't complete this one. Ran into game stopping bugs 3 times and decided to wait when most of their fixes required restarts. Now it seems I just forgot about this game. I won't forget when a new one comes around though, not gonna buy it. Sorry guys, you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up.

Yeah, the fixes requiring restarts is terrible programming and for future King's Bounty games they really REALLY need to get rid of that.

Nowadays the game is better than it was. Christa's Gift works again, and since restarting the game to let achievements work properly, I beat the game on impossible. Finishing the game does mean acommodating some of the bugs. There are battles which hang every time they are played, but I've found that sometimes that can be fixed by taking a different kind of amry into the battle.

Started playing last week.Experienced frequent random crashes to desktop during battle turns.
Could it be a ram issue (2 Gb W64) ?

Noticed that crashes most often happen when using these spells in battle : Freedom,Kamikaze
