Where is Runorm??
I got past this point on my last game but I don't remember how. I'm only to the third area (Fastland) and I'm totally stuck. The main quest says "Continue searching for Runorm" but I have COMPLETELY scoured the whole island.

Also having frequent random crashes since I got a new computer with Windows 8, though I'm not sure that's related.

New info: I have the first valkyrie (Guerida?) and when I talk to her I have the option to appoint her queen of the valkyries or something, but whenever I try that the game crashes. Is she the one with the map to Isterrig?

It's confusing... the quest text down below doesn't seem to change, so they don't always reflect your current objective. I don't recall exactly where the map came from, but I do remember that I had to give the completed mask to the valkyrie to progress.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

Nope, no option to give her the mask. Ugh. Game seems to be broken. Wondering it this is a Windows 8 thing since it didn't do this on my last playthrough on my old computer.

I've started a new game and this is fresh on my mind, having just done it again. You visit all the burned down huts on the third island, collecting a mask piece from a named mob in each patch. You visit the sage on the second island to show him the mask pieces and tell him that his brother is missing. Then, you head back to the third island to pick up your second valkyrie and talk to the king - I can't remember which order. At this point, you're finally ready to head to the fourth island (Isterreng or whatever). There's a cave at the top of a hill, where you'll find your third valkyrie outside and the missing sage inside.

By the way, if this has been frustrating so far, then you're probably not going to enjoy the rest of the game. By the time you get halfway or so through, almost all of the quests become very vague in that same frustrating way. I don't know why quest/map markers are so hard to implement, but at the least someone needs to go through all the quest dialog and add an explicit location next to every task. "Talk to Torreghg", is not nearly as useful as, "Talk to Torreghg the engineer in New Korath's town center."

So much this. I love the combat aspect but the questing is mind numbing at times. Especially if I've had a few drinks ;)

Runorm is in an area in the fourth island, to access it you need to enter a cave (one of the valkyries, hilda is standing at the entrance of that cave), then beat the boss spider and keep going. you will reach an area that doesn't show on the map, Runorm is standing by a portal there.
