Confusing multiplayer?
I recently completed the single-player game. It was awesome. The first time I played any Tomb Raider game, and I really enjoyed it (although it took a while to get the hang of the QTEs: I kept pressing things too soon and dying).

So tonight I gave the multiplayer game a go. Very confusing and annoying. No idea what team I was supposed to be on: they show red and blue, but did not tell me which colour *I* was, or against whom I was supposed to be shooting. Tried running around a while, looking for people to shoot - but instantly got ambushed from somewhere behind and above me, where I could not see anyone. No learning curve. No tutorial. No opportunity to select "beginner" mode - so I guess I was thrown in with seasoned players. Very offputting to a new player who is just trying to learn multiplayer. How can I learn it when I'm killed instantly by seasoned players? I had no idea what I was doing or where I was supposed to be going.

How about a "beginner mode" for multiplayer please?

i have to join quick matches to find any games. even then it is pretty tough finding one. i actually enjoy the multiplayer. it took me awhile to get a hang for it, but once you find a weapon you like it is pretty fun. problem is most of the better weapons are at the 20s

I hate to say this euro, but you are making quite the ♥♥♥♥♥es complaint. Complaints like these are the ones that have rendered the MMORPG genre to what it is today.

Just play some MP games and you'll get used to it, it's pretty simple. You don't get colours, one team are survivors (Lara and friends) and the other are the bad guys, if you played the single player game it's easy to notice that.

It's true that it is not very noob friendly but oh well, maybe in the next game.

I can relate, EuroSong. A "Friends Only" setting for private matches might go some way towards helping people play with others of the same skill level.

I don't have any real-life friends who use Steam. Perhaps there's a forum for people looking to learn with other beginners in private matches?
Enthuisiass - most of your word was blanked out by the censorship system here, but I assume you were saying I was making a n00b complaint or something. Well - yes, in multi-player I am a n00b. And so were you, before you started out. Evryone has to learn somewhere. That's the whole point of my message. I want a suitable way to learn the multi-player. It's not possible to learn if you're just thrown in with a bunch of experienced players who kill you instantly.
Banana Man: Thank you for your explanation. Perhaps I would have noticed if I had the chance to actually see any of my opponents up close. The problem was that I was killed instantly by shots from behind, above, far away - and I could not actually see who I was fighting. The game does not make that clear at all. For all I knew, it was just a bunch of Lara's friends fighting each other.

Oh btw - Monk, Oh La La - thank you. Perhaps I will find other beginners there :)

I believe like any MP mode in any game, there will be people who are more veteran or plainly more skilled than you are - and rightly so, they've been playing for weeks/months before you.

The trick is to not let the first few games discourage you. When I play MP, I often end up on teams with level 1-5 players who cost us the match, however, I recall the time when I was in the same place so no hard feelings.

The important thing is to have fun, everything else will follow.

I disagree, the comp bow is much more OP. You can take out a minigunner with a bow and arrow anyday. But in the hands of an expert, the comp bow is unstoppable.
