Hair TressFX lag?
I can play Ultra settings perfectly but disabling the hair tressfx, even in low settings the tressfx makes my aiming lag. i can move around with it but I can't aim. I adore hair animation and this is what i've been looking for ;-;

TressFX requires a high end graphic card. I play on Ultra as well but tressFX makes my aiming lag just like you. looks like you need a very powerful card.

I guess play on a lower res or get a new gpu if you want it that bad

What type of card are you using? I know when the game first released NVIDIA cards would run like crap when usinf TressFX. Pretty sure the game was developed using AMD cards so it was poorly optimized for other cards, dunno if thats been patched or not.
well, TressFX is an AMD technology as far as I know
i can play it on 800x600 resoultion, ultra graphics xD i ended up going back to normal hair quality.
takes alot to run without lag, my nividia ran fine with it as long as the graphics r on normal, but my friend has a better system all round and uses amd and lags more than mine even on low, and mine is GT 635M as it is on a laptop

this is a ♥♥♥♥, with ultra graphics and tressFX on i have lag, i just turned off tressFX, and game running with 60fps =( GTX 460 here
Even Alice's Hair from Alice: Madness Returns runs better than Lara's Hair... It's Ok for me, as long i can apreciate Lara's Boobies in Ultra Settings 8D

It was a little disappointing that it lagged, but stagnant hair and ultra on everything else is good enough.
I can run it fine with 120fps, but honestly, the novelty wears thin after a very short while.
tressfx is a amd specific effect.

"TressFX is a toolset co-developed by AMD and Crystal Dynamics, which taps into DirectCompute to unlock the number-crunching prowess of the GPU (specifically Graphics CoreNext ones), to render individual strands of hair. It is built on the foundation laid by AMD's work on Order Independent Transparency (OIT), and uses Per-Pixel Linked-List (PPLL) data structures to manage rendering complexity and memory usage. DirectCompute is additionally used to process the physics of these strands of hair, which are affected by the character's motion, and elements such as wind and water/rain. TressFX will be implemented at least on the PC version of the upcoming Tomb Raider"
Disabling Tessellation and Setting Shadows to High, i can use TressFX with no lag even when i aim. The frame rate is very stable (40-50). Using GTX 580 1.5 GB (Ultra Settings)
