If you enjoyed the game and felt it was worthwhile to pay for new outfits, added maps or other things not included in the primary game then that's your decision. I'm not gonna criticize someone trying to make a few extra bucks. But unless it's something critical to the enjoyment of the main game (at which point I do agree that it's wrong not to include it) then it's only a bother if you feel like you're gonna miss out.
If it was released several months after the initial game as an add-on pack then I doubt that you'd hear any complaints. But day-one DLC or stuff that's actually already on the disk (and needs to be "unlocked") is something I don't have any regard for.
Please release some single player addons..........
"Since I don't want it, I don't want anybody else to have it!"
Great attitude!
They just did that yesterday!
What single player content was released yeaterday?
Tomb of the Lost Adventurer - It's still on the first store page (but probably not for long).
And for those who say "Don't like, don't buy it." that was a foreseeable response. Take a good look at the QUALITY of what they are offering. They are offering unlocks for the game that can be unlocked on its own later in the game. They are offering Multiplayer skins which take 5 minutes to do in a modelling program.
They put no effort into making these, but they are charging for them anyways. It is not like Skyrim where they charge $20 for a full blown island to explore, a whole new story, dozens of new charatcers and over 20 new dungeons to explore. There was actual effort put into making that DLC and it offers something of substance.
Granted the tomb they offer for $3 took a small amount of effort, and so did some multipayer maps. But with all the optional tombs with rewards so small that they hardly worth exploring I do not need another to churn out $3 fo yet another one. For that matter multiplayer does not make a game for me, and I am not going to pay more for it.
That's up to you - I very rarely buy a game when it first comes out (I rather see a few reviews to see if it's worth my money) and if I can get it on sale - even better.
Company gets more money, can make even better games and we enjoy them even more. And the one paying 1$ for an unlock, well, i guess even those people are happy.
Sure, forced DLCs are a pain in the butt and i will never get some. But stuff like this? Why not? It´s not hurting me in any way, so why should i bother?
And fair DLC like Borderlands/Skyrim/Mass Effect/... stuff, well, it´s just the new name for AddOn but online. Nothing else.
On the other hand you can buy outfits if you liked them. They are not available in the game without dlc.("They should be available without dlc." is another topic of discussion)
And last, hitman weapons for mp...They are adding some fun if you play multi,if you don't simply don't buy it.
That tomb is the one that was offered as prepurchase bonus and has been available with the first dlcs of this game. Is still the ONLY single player DLCs and squarenix have said there won't be another.
OP: I agree with you. I prefer not having any DLC at all that having this crap. And I agree that nobody should buy it so companies understand they must offer more to the customers for their money
It wasn't available to me until last week and I was glad to have it! (Just finding it was a puzzle in itself, as there are no external markings to indicate it as a tomb, unlike all of the others.)
If enough people felt the same as you and did not purcahse DLC, then it would show in the economic model to the publishers and may enact a change.
Otherwise, fight the good fight and do your part. Power to the people and all that... just don't buy it if you don't wisdh to. Best wishes.
