Screen Tearing with Vsync On ?
I have annoying screen tearing, i use the setting Vsync triple buffering and i dont know why. My Fps are perfect with the new beta driver on my gtx 670 really fluid 50-60 fps on max settings without tress fx.

I read that double buffering has only 30 or 60 fps caps and if the game drops under 60 fps the cap goes down to 30 and thats not good. I dont know why i have screen tearing on fluid framerates in every game.

Maybe Nvidias Vsync work better but im sure nvidias triple buffering doesnt work for d3d, only for opengl so any ideas ?

Ok it makes no matter what vsync type you choose double and triple buffering causes screen tearing, so thats the next game in the row what was released with haste. The only hope is that Nvidias Vsync work but im confused now, i dont read any about screen tearing in the internet and that the vsync what comes with the game doesnt work at all.

Make sure you aren't forcing Vsync off in your nvidia control panel. I was fiddling with my settings and disabled it there, and those settings override any made in the game.

Go to nvidia control panel and set it to application controlled or on and see if that helps.

I use application controled all the time and never changed that mabye the game doesnt save it because i dont find any new folder in my documents but the all settings i changed in the launcher stay saved so its confusing. The only way i have left is Nvidias Vsync but i really want triple buffered vsync because its rare these days for DX Games.

Im sure its because the game doesnt create any new folder to save the settings and the savegames can anyone please say me the destination and the name of the folder what the game is creating on saveing settings and else ?

Ok its the game Nvidias Vsync doesnt work too so there is no setting for me to play without screen tearing. Its the actual game patch but i dont want to use the old game version because of bad performance and graphical glitches for nvidia users.

get d3dOverrider, it'll be your best friend when it comes to V Sync. works for me on every application, even STALKER (which cant be forced in game or out of game via control panel). i swear by D3D Overrider for my V Sync needs, its never let me down personally!

it's nothing wrong with the in game vsync that's for sure so if your still getting screen tearing i would imagine you have a setting somewhere that's causing it. mine works flawlessly. in game triple buffered and i have a gtx660.

In the official forum since v1.0.718.4 many reporting screen tearing and its not sure if its the game or the latest nvidia beta driver but ill tried every possible setting in the game and in the control panel visa versa nothing changes and the screen tears. In v1.0.716.5 Vsync works fine so its definitely a bug, and i dont want to use 3rd party tools because of glitches.

The Devs give us the chance to roll back to v1.0.716.5 but thats a no go with that many graphical glitches, black boxes and else. But yeah ill treid that version in the last hour and no screen tearing so i think its the latest patch. Luckely not all users have this issue bad for me.

The only thing i dont tried is exclusiv fullscreen, i read that tomb raiders fullscreen is for other games windowed fullscreen and exclusiv fullscreen is the normal fullscreen and when this is right then its no wonder when i have screen tearing because i never see any game without screen tearing in windowed fullscreen. And as more i read it says more and more that tomb raiders fullscreen is originaly borderless window mode.....

Say me what you are using ?

fullscreen, exclusive, windowed, before patch, after patch it doesnt matter. i get zero screen tearing or glitches or bugs etc. also, im using the last stable nvidia driver. i never ever bother with beta ones, usually more trouble that its worth.

It does matter with the latest nvidia whql driver most people have issues with performance and glitches from things like tesselation and tress fx etc. and you are not the only important person, like i said luckely it runs fine for some people so play and let us troubleshoot.

troubleshoot away i never stopped you.
