Achievement bugs?

I managed to get the achievement for completing all optional tombs, but not the one for completing 1 optional tomb. I also have not ♥♥♥♥♥♥ the kill/loot 10 large animal achievement and have killed/looted well over 10. I haven't attempted MP yet, but others seem to have problems with those achievements too?

Any ideas on what is causing this?

Same boat. I haven't done all of the tombs yet, but I've done at least 5 to 7 of them. I've killed pllllllllenty of large animals. &, even though you didn't mention it, I've completed challenges for at least 8 locations & haven't unlocked the achievement for doing "one challenge". Oh, same story goes for killing birds.

All of my other trophies seem to be solid, it's just these. 1 optional tomb, 1 challenge, 10 big game hunt, 10 flying game hunt.

I had a similar problem on my first play thru. game showed I had 12/50 steam showed 0/50.
After a reboot of my system the next day I got one in game. Game now showed 13/50 steam 1/50.
After beating the game I decided to replay to see about picking up the other achievements.
No good.
It seems TR client registers the achievement then passes the word to Steam. Steam didnt get the word :(
You can not get the achievement again in game so it doesnt pass the word to steam.
I figured ok I will just delete my save game files.
No good again. The achievement info was still there in game.
It seems to be stored in the Profile.dat file

The fix!!!
This will wipe out your settings in TR !!!!
Turn off Steam Cloud Sync
for Windows 8
Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\65392476\203160\remote
Delete Profile.dat
Start game and start getting achievements.
Turn on cloud sync.

Man, I just beat the game too. You're telling me I have to do that alll over again? >_>

I actually like the game enough to do that...maybe.

i have all documents, geocaches and relicts and beat the story but i didnt get the achievement for finding everything. on the map it shows that i got everything on every spot but no achievement.

Only received two achiements while playing the game. The final main story mission, and a 25% gps location. Nothing else unlocked for me :/

Annoyingly deleting Profile.dat means deleting your multiplayer profile. Sure you can copy and paste it back in afterwards but your ingame profile when clicked on the leadboards wont show the same number of achievements as your steam account and I really don't want to be accused of cheating.

For the record this problem was caused if you launched the game when it first came out because I recall playing for 3 hours and realising they weren't anywhere until I restarded steam and its the achievements I would have unlocked within that time (in my case One Smart Cookie and Unfinished Business) that now refuse to unlock.

I also have completed the game. Twice. I have the achievement that says I "found everything", but I don't have any achievements for the stuff I completed in the first few hours of play. It shows I found 100% of documents, but I never found 25% of documents, etc.

Any chance for a real fix to this that doesn't involve me hacking my profile?

You can do what aftershock911 said by deleting your profile file and starting a new game to get the ones you should already have earned, then put the old profile back once that is done. I have however contacted the Eidos support on the offchance of a fix or any future plans of one but I'm not getting my hopes up. My earlier worry of my achievement number on steam not matching my character profile achievement number on the statts using the profile.dat method isn't much of a big deal anyway because lets face it the servers will be dead within a few weeks.

Lee, "Killed/looted" implies that I did both, especially since they're in the past tense.

The completionist in my is dying inside. I just want to get the MP achievements over with before I do the profile thing, which is essntially solo boosting, no mater how boring that is. Pluss, I missed Chatterbox, which isn't evenm on the list but is still unlockable, and that calls for essentially another whole playthrough...

This is ridiculous. Those who've been most eager to play and started as soon as it was available got punished. I'm on my 4th playthrough and missing simple achievements such as "One Smart Cookie". Very frustrating. Fundamental things like this shouldn't be so hard to get right from the start. I hope there will be some kind of solution instead of messing with the cloud saves.

I'm missing the "Find 25% of __" for the relics, documents, and GPS. I have the achievement to find all of them though. It's nothing huge but it's a minor annoyance as I wouldn't want to have to go through all over again just to get those only to have it possibly bug out again and not register.

if you just play through again, they won't register. I played through from beginning to end twice, because the game was fun enough that I actually wanted to. But the achievements that failed to register the first time do not register the second time either. I haven't tried deleting my game profile as others have suggested.
