Youtube video of a cinematic just blocked for copyright
Apparently because there's music playing (ingame music) they blocked it. What the hell??

It is stupid, but they do have the right to do that. By any chance did you monetize it, if so are you a partner of a netwrok that allows that?

I don't monetize and I'm not a network or anything. Never had any problems in the past uploading anything from a game unless there was a beta NDA.

Music publishers have the right to keep their music from being played publicly.... which is what Youtube is.

It may be that it was blocked due to Square/Eidos not wanting spoilers up on youtube just yet. I can't be certain but it has happened in the past with other games.

There are channels on YouTube that have complete walkthroughs. I haven't watched them but I know they are there from looking for answers to problems people are having.

Maybe c00p is being targeted by a loathesome troll. Some flagging on YouTube is automatic after several identical flags. I used to be part of an online community that would regualry do that to spam artists who used copyrighted music to supplment their videos of ``free software'' that totally wasn't a virus I swear.

Funny how very little people know about copyrighted material.. probably why so many people are prosecuted for illegally downloading music and videos. Ignorance isn't an excuse for breaking the law.

It's just recorded content from a game, I've uploaded tons of that stuff before, so do LP'ers.

Technically that footage you upload belongs to the game developers and publishers. Did you ever wonder why monitised game channels on youtube are all on contacts with big broadcast companies like Machinima? Machinima pays royalties to the game publishers and developers to allow channels under them to upload and monitise game footage. Most of the time, as long as you're not monitising the game footage without royalties, the game companies dont care its on youtube, but occasionally they take it down, which is what happened a lot with LA Noire footage.

In retrospect I guess you are right, but I've seen millions of videos of just anything recorded in games and no one has problems. YouTube keeps giving me trouble and yet I find tons of the same videos still up. I'm sick of YouTube anyway, there UI sucks and all this change is crap
