75mb Update - What did it do?
I just randomly got a 75mb update. Could it be a quick fix for the known crashing? Anyone know any details?

Just got it too. Dunno what it does yet. Updated my drivers back to 314.07 so let's see if this fixes the tess crashing bug.

lol I just had my first crash, the entire PC froze. Could have been the slight overclock I was doing, but now I'm wondering if the update trigger from Steam locked up the game? The timing was way too perfect lol

I think they've decreased the voice detection threshold for mic voice input, since I now have to shout into the mic for it to pick up and trasmit ingame. Might be abit of a hackjob for now till they implement a button that says 'toggle mic on/off'.

Hmmm... not terribly sure. One thing I think would serve as a good example to other developers was the PC release of Brutal Legend. I knew before I bought it that it had issues, Double Fine made that clear up front. Every time a patch hit, which was near daily, they had a nice sticky updated in the forums here with specific details on issues it corrected and open acknowledgement of what still needed work. I've watched them respond back quickly often addressing said issues or making requested tweaks within 24 hours. Just super amazing technical and customer service work.

So far on the Nvidia side i've got @nvidiacc saying they are working on it and pointed the finger at Square for holding back on release code, Square releasing a stealth patch (as far as the steam community is concerned due to no updates here), and ive got some Nvidia support pointing to "later this month" for a fix while others say they can't really give a timeframe but seem to lean earlier. Their forum is a bit of a jumble, with wild eyed conspiracy theory and folks seemingly not catching the official commentary since it's buried in a thread.

Makes a man miss cartridges.... errr... well... not really.

Game still crashes with tessalation on. Running 314.07 drivers on a GTX 660 Ti. Ran around the jungle area for a bit and it looked fine for 2 mins then bam, game crashed. Dunno what they did but they didn't fix the biggest issue so far. Also lens flares in fullscreen still not fixed.

We have just made public a new version of the PC version of Tomb Raider, build 1.0.717.1. This patch will be applied by Steam automatically when you next start the game. If your game does not update, please restart the Steam client.

This is a first update that addresses a variety of issues that we either found out about shortly before release or immediately after.

Fixes include:

- Addressed some stability issues on machines that have both Intel and Nvidia graphics hardware.
- Various small UI updates.
- Fix for players being unable to progress related to the boat in the beach area.
- Some fixes for crashes on startup and when selecting Options.
- Some improvements to TressFX hair rendering.
- Fixes for various smaller graphics glitches.
- Fixes related to the benchmark scene and benchmark mode.

While we expect this patch to be an improvement for everyone. If you do have trouble with this patch and prefer to stay on the old version we made a Beta available on Steam, Build716.5, that can be used to switch back to the previous version.

We expect further patches to follow fairly soon, addressing further issues we see being brought up by players, and are actively monitoring these and other forums looking for issues.

Same here, and I was at 75% game completion, wasted time... Oh well.

Opt in TR beta got the old version and everything works now. I'll update later to the newer version of the game when I beat it.

The game was working fine for me up until this patch. Now, the game crashes during the initial "loading" screen. /sigh
