Launched in Australia

Tomb Raider just launched in Australia. I eagerly race down to EB, pick up my copy I've had preordered since November, race home again and boot up my computer. I then connect to Steam and realise its Hitman and Far Cry all over again. I have to wait 3 days and 7 hours just to play my game because of Steam. We're being punished and made to wait all so everybody can play at the same time. God forbid the rest of the world has to wait 3 days. We can't even install while not connected to the internet because we need an internet connection.

TL;DR **** you Steam and thanks for ruining my weekend.

I'm confused the world wide release date has always been march 5th. So why would you think you would get to play it early even if you bought it early?

Because we have it on our hands early.I've never encountered problems like this on my xbox360. For instance,when i first got Gears of War 3,I got it like 4 days before its official release.And i played it no problem,both SP and MP.Why can't I now? I own a legit copy of Tomb Raider and i have the right to play it now.

Cause the street date go broken. the embargo got lifted. If I can walk into any shop and purchase something, then I have the right to damn well play it.

No you own a legitimate serial code for a copy of Tomb Raider for steam (look closely on the box) Tomb Raider for Steam launches on March 5th.

No. Steam release dates are set by the publisher. If its released in a country then Steam needs to update to allow. Instead, like always, DRM is punishing the consumer.

I am really trying to find the idea behind all this..I mean,it's not like it is CoD or Halo that needs servers for the MP part.TRs' is mostly SP.Why all this fuzz? My opinion is that all this is pure BS.

No. I have a disc, therefore its a physical copy that only needs to be activated via steams DRM. its not a digital copy. I do not have to download anything to install. How hard is that to understand.

All the files are on the disc. When you eventually get your copy you can see all the files there too.

The data on the disk is simply the preload for steam copy, as its available for people who have poor internet connections, it is still a digital copy of Tomb Raider.
