You know what would be funny?
If a whole bunch of people cancelled their pre order to the point were no one gets the meaningless DLC that should in fact be already in the ♥♥♥♥ing game and should not be pulled out just to get more profits. It will be hilarious to see all the rage from nerds about how they didn't get their DLC. Do it! I Dare You.

You know frankly, if you can get people to REALLY do that, you should run for political office.

Hopefully people will see the ♥♥♥♥♥♥i't behind having to buy a game before its time just because of some content that was pulled out that should be IN the Fu'cking to begin with.besides who gives a fuc'k about getting it as soon as it comes out.you can always get it the next day. Funny joke vs shanty town a map for multiplayer(Multiplayer is no good, its been confirmed) and exploring a crashed airplane.
Because I DO want to play it the second it comes out!

You should look into your Drinking problem instead of playing video games.

After working as a beta tester last year, I understood that the "day 1" DLCs can't be already in the game because they have deadlines to send the games to the company that'll put it on disks so they can ship it to the stores. Meanwhile, the testers test (obviously) the DLC so it can be ready for "day 1". Sure, they should be available to everyone and not only to those who pre ordered but it's not like they'd spit on easy money....

Day 1 DLC can be already on the game easily. Day 1 DLC for teams who actually schedule their time will have these maps accounted for a long time ago. Gears of War Judgement or whatever the new one is called has been leaked for over a week and there is another 3 weeks until it launches.

When you pre-order games enough you eventually get burned & learn your lesson.
First time that happened to me was with Dragon Age 2 which was a lazy, corner cutting ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ization of Origins. More recently I was dumb enough to pre-order Aliens Colonial Marines & have been reminded as to how stupid doing it is.
Tomb Raider looks like the first in the franchise that I’d like & from what I’ve seen looks like a pretty good game, though will probably have a ♥♥♥♥tone of QTEs since game devs can’t get off unless their game contains that annoying trend of a mechanic. I’m more concerned about how bad or good the PC version will be. Any smart consumer waits for reviews from people they can trust before buying but it is very easy to fall to temptation & pre-order.

People are crying over 1 MP map and 1 Tomb? wow, i mean why not cry over all DLC i mean they should delay all games until they add everything and then release it, that would soon shut people up.

O tempora, o mores!

i suppose the only pre order/day 1 dlc i would be alright with seeing is art assets. skins, artwork etc.

Lol at the end of they day they are a company they are there to make profits welcome to the real world. Its up to each person if they want to preorder and everyone will do it for there own reasons. Or they will wait for reviews or they will just get it when they have the money its all down to each person. Getting bored hearing the same crap on every game THIS IS JUST HOW IT IS NOW get with the times allready. People on this bandwagon down with DLC! Dont Preorder or perpurchase anything!!! im not joking but look at all the AAA games same ♥♥♥♥ in all the community pages. People should just try and enjoy games thats what it used to be about having fun :D

You know what else would be funny? This thread, if we weren't burning fossil fuels to power the infrastructure that stores, sends and retrieves its banality.

Pretty much this. The day 1 DLC is so insignificant that I can't believe anyone could ever get so emotionally bothered over it. OP you need to go read a book or something.

Maybe they want to read a book, but they're just waiting til they can buy the book and chapter 7. I mean, I know that chapter is mostly just side plot but I heard there was some good character develpment in there. Unfortunately they won't be able to pre-order now, so won't be getting a cover on the book. Maybe they'll release a Book of the Year edition that has a binding instead of just loose pages, though.

Seems absurd when you apply the DLC angle to other entertainment media, yeah? But look at it critically: You don't need a binding to read, word on paper, you're good. You don't need a cover, it just looks nice and keeps the pages from getting grubby. You don't need side plots, they just add filler that makes the main plot feel a little richer. When you get down to it, they are "cosmetic extras." Why not start charging extra for them? Probably because it's in every way ridiculous and it's anti-consumer BS and people wouldn't stand for it. Yet somehow once you start talking about games suddenly those same consumers are defending that very practice.

Companies need to be profitable to survive, and I'm all for it. While most people I know are torrenting books, films, music, games, and anything else they can get their digital hands on. I tend to go out of my way to send money to the producers of media I'm fond of. But I'm also all for them selling you a complete product and banking on their product being quality enough to be successful, rather than just nickle & diming you to pad their bottom line. One is a healthy consumer relationship, one is lop-sided. It's interesting you're defensive of the one that's slanted against you.
