Game randomly uninstalled itself.
Must be a steam server issue.

Earlier today I was playing Tomb Raider, saved, closed steam etc.

Returned from lunch, turned my PC back on, opened steam and it was gone.

However I can look at game files on my PC.

I have opened a ticket with Steam to try and resolve this.

I don't want to lose all my progress.

Has anyone else encountered this?

That's a new one on me - I closed steam, reopened it and didn't have any issues with the installed game on my system. Hard to understand what happened to your installation.

This hasn't happened to me, but I have heard it happen to others on some different games. I don't know how they solved the issue so you may want to google it.

In the mean time since you have the files on your computer still I would recommend going to

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\steamID#\203160\remote

This is where your save files are located so just copy/paste them on your desktop or somewhere to keep as a backup. Steam Cloud kinda does this for you, but it would be more reliable to have the local saves handy in case Steam downloads the wrong save files.

I didn't uninstall myself.

Unless I forgot doing this within the space of 2 hours then it is possible.

Still no response from Steam but thanks for the help.

I'll make sure I copy those files onto my desktop.

Buddy, I know the difference between and installed and non installed game.....

So what is your point? I have temporary memory loss and done it myself?

Anyway issue resolved.

I went to re install it and it installed iton the "preparation" screen without having to do a full download.

For some reason it went from "not installed" on my games library when I got back from lunch.

I went to re install the game and it only done an install of some files and became "ready to play".

Not a full uninstall true, but some kind of weird error.

I was looking for help, stupid of me to think forums were the place for it.

Goodbye Deponia - I restarted steam, and it had "Install" instead of "Play".
I clicked install, clicked the located I installed it previously, and it just started checking the game files, then went back to "Play".
Strange, but there it is.

Not possible.
It is possible, but it's not "uninstall", Steam detects the game is not installe but the game folders are in the Steam directory.

It's literally not possible.
Maybe you're hiding Tombraider in your list of games. But things can't and don't uninstall themselves.
Not possible? Tons of people had this problem and me myself is having this problem right now

Had same issue , came here for the answer, and Ben was right, just say "INSTALL" then everything will be okay, it will verify the files, and then will be ready to play in no time, and your save files will be okay too, so just press install.
