I'm about an hour in, and I really don't like it so far. Does it just start slow and get better as you go?

For the first hour or so you'd mainly be fighting wolves, it picks up a bit when you get to the burning temple village, that's also where the QTEs die down a bit.

It gets better as soon as you start the game. If you don't like it after one hour in, odds are you won't like it at all.

^ Disagree. The game does start off a little slow, and picks up after the first 90 mins or so. Dont expect a game like the older TR's though (if you played them), take this game as something entirely new. If you do not enjoy it after that, then most likely you will not enjoy it at all.

One hour is not telling much about where you precisely could be in the game, it depends on how you are playing it, however it usually takes a bit longer to get used to the game athmosphere..and, yes, it starts slow and get better as you go, don't close your mind too early.

As you have the game now, just play it and get your own opinion and yes I liked it, only Tomb Raider game I ever completed.

Those largely go away after you start seriously confronting human enemies, though they do blur the line between cutscene and gameplay and you may not like that.

yeah first hour or so is game orientation if you will, if you find it boring just wait when you replay the game on hard mode and have to do that whole hour again... But having said that, this is the only single player game that ive ever enjoyed enough to finish all the way to the end + going back to find everything to get 100%, which is really a first for me. As for old school tomb raider well i find the controls are clumsy and i find it frustrating to play compared to the new one.
