Tomb Raider is awesome!
Am i the only one, that thought that this game was amazing?!
It was a thrill to play... WTF are you all complaining about? I don't get it -.-

I've played it for about an hour, i'm a sort of fan of some of the other games, and frankly i love the game. I can see where the hard core fans won't like it, but i think this is better than the way it was done initially

not sure i'd gove ot 10/10 more like 8.5/10 it lodses 1.5 points on the QTE's which are so damn annoying had one that took me like 5 mins to get past. and it was one that really had no place there

9/10, never played any game from Tomb Rider seires, but this one I simply love, the best game of 2013 for me. But QTE was really ANNOYING, 0.001 s. later and you are dead :(

The game is amazing, but it could have been more creative. I think it was lazy to turn boss battles into QTEs. My other critic is the existence of the multiplayer. It was simply not needed in my opinion. If I had to rate it, I would give it 8/10.

What exactly is your problem with QTE's? I mean the reason you hate their existence.

Hmm, I explained this already. You press 'F' (or whatever) a bit earlier or later and you are dead.

That's how they all work. And they give you enough time to press the button at the right moment.

However, this is not the reason to condemn a valid game mechanics.

The problem with the QTE's in this game is that they're overused. At one point in the early gamei think it was 4 seperate QTE to get past 1 scene which is really frustrating. especiely because if you miss even one of them you get sent right back to the start again. Also feels like you can't go 10feet without some sort of QTE cropping up. Granted they slow down later in the game, but they're still over used.

QTE's work well if they're used right and sparingly. tomb raider dosen't do either, hence why it loses 1.5 points for me. I never said i hate their existence, and nothing in my earlier post says that

Part of the problem is what i said above, but also the fact that the key presses don't always seem to be recordered. I've died a few times due to this, and no it's not mt keyboard since i'm using a rather good mechanical keyboard. It's a problem with the way the QTE's work

If you read my first post, I said - I love this game. I hate QTE (let's say it's my personal problem - I've died several times in every QTE) but on the whole game is perfect for me. I hope to see the sequel.

Even if it's true (which is debatable, for it's a matter of opinion) what seems to be the problem? You have to press a button to go into aim mode every time you want to kill an enemy. Does this mechanics also annoy you?

I haven't experience anything of the sort. Which to me indicates that it isn't a game problem.

Exactly what I'm trying to figure out. Why QTE's are a problem for you?

clearly trying to explain it to you is pointless since you've decided you love QTE's and dont mind them. So anything we say contrary to that is just wasted time

QTEs are a problem in this and any other game because they literally take you out of the game mechanics. I know people argue that they are a game mechanic, but let me use an example here: I'm going along in a world that has consistent physics and consistent controls for a given set of actions, suddenly for 'design,' 'artistic,' or other reasons I'm not playing a game I'm watching a movie that requires me to not really pay attention to the movie, but instead watch and wait for brightly colored floating button symbols so I can press them and live rather than endure a glorified cutscene yet again. Thats why people hate quick time events.

I really like about 80% of this game its brilliant. I'd give it a 7/10. I take 1 for puzzles that were frankly less than challenging(though I'm sure that casual crowd they are obviously reaching out to felt very proud of thermselves solving them) and 2 for use of QTEs. I want to play a game, not watch really long cutscenes that have devolved into what amounts to a game of Simon just to justify exposition rather than gameplay and to make casual gamers feel like they can beat the bosses rather than having people actually have to be good at the main game's gameplkay elements,

Sorry, but I DESPISE QTEs and many others do and it mystifys me when someone asks "Why?"
