Tomb Raider

Tomb Raider

Statistiche:
This is probably the best game ever made by man.
Finally, after fifteen years they get it right again and then some. Great job!

Do you think so? I think it is a stupid Game, the parts with the key pushing sequences are maybe fun for little kids but not for Keyboards. This is really cheap and frustrating, a Game should make fun. For me it was a failure buying this Game, never again.
i liked the storyline, the beautiful graphics and the cutscenes, also the upgrades to improve her was very well thought out.

"maybe fun for little kids" isnt this a PG18 game?! i played with keyboard with no problems what so ever. if u get stuck just use a faq lol..
He means quick time events. Somehow he convinced himself that they are beneath him. That unlike pushing buttons anywhere else in Tomb Raider, pushing them during quick time events disparages him, if not humiliates.
This game is amazingly research, the number of diffent scenes is amazing with extrodinary detials with historical application...not sure howthey pulled this off...So, I think you are right: this is a new high water mark for gaming!

So you would recommend this game to a little kid, but not a keyboard? Are you a keyboard?
No, I am not a keyboard :) I meant that my keyboard keys are going to be destroyed if I play that Game many times. Where is the fun by stupid fast key pushing? Push fast A and D, then quick F key, then fast pushing on E key, again F key, again E key. I am sorry but this is cheap and stupid, also frustrating if you hang there. Where is the new inovation? The million liter blood pixel?

Where is the fun in pushing W to move forward? Or a pushing left mouse button to shoot?

You're not just fast pushing buttons, you're fighting for a weapon with someone, or shaking of someone's grip, or erratically stab someone. QTE's also make you pay attention to the game, introduce some unpredictability, and overall make the game look more cinematic.

The game is rated +18 for a reason. I would NOT recommend this to a child.

The game looks decent enough and was fun to play. Rather short. Not the best game I've ever played but surely there are a whole bunch that are not as good. Best game ever? Hardly.
I think it's excellent also - definitely one of the best games I've ever played (and i've been playing since Jet Set Willy!)

I actually don't think it was short either (haven't quite completed it, but almost at the end).

I found the QTEs and cutscenes good too - I didn't feel it was like watching a film and just pretting a button to continue - it felt real and gritty and interactive and cinematic and exciting. Really enjoying the whole thing :)

Plus its technically excellent, and running at high detail in 3D makes it a joy to behold.

I am someone who played the original tomb raider games on both PC and Playstation back in the day. I played those games and loved them very much and rebought them all on steam. This Tomb Raider is simply the best Tomb Raider game ever made in all regards IMO.

BTW, for the above comments about it being terrible for keyboards, I agree. In fact, all Tomb Raider games are terrible on keyboards. They are seriously better when a controller is used as you have far more natural and direct control of her. Aiming may be negatively effected somewhat, but not to any degree that matters.
Thing is, this game goes out of its way to do things for you - it decides when to let you wallk, run, sneak and even take cover. I don't really mind the QTEs since I play with the controller, but it can get a bit confusing on the KB because it doen't actually tell you which keys to hit (it uses icons instead).

One of my major complaints is the replayabiltiy. I've put in 10 hrs into the game and completed every tomb and upgraded almost all my weapons. Since I don't really play the multiplayer of TR, I don't see any reason to go back.

But to each his own. If you feel this is the best game you've ever played, then it is ;)

"Finally got it right" - sometimes I wish people understood the difference between subjective and objective. The 96 and 97 releases were phenomenal 10/10 games with the technology they have at hand.

Tomb Raider was one of the first 3D games that I ever played. I loved the difficulty, the sense of wonder and general awesomeness that each game was back in the day.

I re-read the man's comments and he said "Right again" so yeah my fail.

5 points for taking it like a man.

This game took it to the next level with the story telling, the fluid combat, music, AI convos, still had the exploration and jumping..It is one of the best games I ever played.

Try my set up though...I use Arrow keys for movement instead of the wsad keys always have... Just angle the keyboard a little to the left...

Isn't what he/she said subjective, though? What we consider to be "right" isn't really consistent amongst everyone. We all have our different idea of perfection.
