Who else thinks they shouldnt have made the MP?
I just wish they had cancelled the MP project at just focused on making the story/adding more hours! Do anyone else agree?

As far as I know, multiplayer was not developed by Crystal Dynamics. So I don't think game development was hampered all that much. But I agree, the shouldn't have done multiplayer at all.

Tomb Raider is and will always be single player focused. I just wished they had done just that.

Only MP we should've gotten was maybe 2-3 people cooping through tombs or storymode.

yeah, but think about all the money spent on making mp. Crystal Dynamics could of had a bigger team, and bigger pocket to reach into for the game. so in the end, it did effect single player.

Me. Absolutely useless.

I've actually really enjoyed the MP. It's very different than the SP and admittedly lacks long-term playability but it's also still very fun. Oh and Crystal Dynamics did not skimp on the SP to build the MP--they assigned that project to Square Enix.

I think what happened was they had planned to do an online co-op mode, gotten pretty far into development for said mode, and then scrapped the idea.

But they were left with all this net code and other systems that they decided they didn't want to go to waste so they tweaked it a bit to work as a standard-fare MP mode.

That's my theory anyway.

But I agree, they should have just scrapped the concept entirely. Even if it didn't work to divert resources to the Single Player it would still be money in their pocket that they didn't have to earn back with sales.

I don't agree. The multiplayer is quite fun actually. Sure it's bugged and glitches atm. but once those get fixed, it can be good. For people that don't like multiplayer, just don't play! There's no requirement that forces you to play. (aside from achievements)

It's mainly for the wider audiance, some poeple don't like it, but more people do. so it outweighs the cons.

I can't play online since I bought. I think the fun party on TB is the main story.

I think you misunderstood me, i wasent attacking those who enjoy the MP i just meant that i thought they should have made the game longer :-)

Same, they could have left MP out to add more SP, but if it was a different group and they had to add something then it would have been cool if it was CO-OP with the story of the rest of the crew during the times Lara was gone . . .

I think the story and entire campaign was well done and is only held back by performance issues (for me) as i have no other issues with this game. The game ended well and the second game is gonna be fantastic, most likely a classic tomb raiding adventure.

I'm digging the multiplayer, so I'm glad it's there. Haven't really had trouble finding games and after the first few rounds of adjusting to it, I was leading my team most rounds and even outplaying some random high ranked individuals the game put me up against (solid matchmaking system lol).

So no... I'm fine with it being there. I've never been a believer of the whole "multiplayer takes resources away from single player" stuff anyways. Plenty of single player games suck.

Would've preferred coop though.

I absolutely agree with the majority of people above. The multiplayer was completely unecessary (but as someone pointed out quite rightly, the multiplayer was not designed by Crystal Dynamics and so we have not lost out on anything.)

I also agree that a co-op would be the only appropriate multiplayer mode for a game like Tomb Raider.

Even though it is almost impossible, I really do hope that the mutliplayer is completely revised for the next installment. Either get rid of it completely or make a co-op mode based on the main campaign.
