Game crashes every time I play!
Every time I play this game, it crashes after 5 to 15mins. Have tried under clocking GPU as others suggest, have re-installed Windows 8.1 from scratch and am now using Catalyst 13.12 as opposed to 14.1 beta.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

My specs are:
AMD A10-5800K running 3.8Ghz
8 GB RAM 2400Mhz
128GB SSD

All other games, of which I have plenty, run absolutely flawlessly but this game, no matter qhat quality setting I use, it crashes. Very frustrating indeed!

If anyone has advice I'd very much appreciate it

Have you tried exclusive mode off?

I have the same problem. Radeon 7950 with CCC 14.1 beta. First startup was great. 1 hour later i have many many many crashes. I have played 8% yet. There came wolfs and 3 out of 5 crashes. Then i found a hole and a secret which i have bought. I go into the hole and 10 seconds later the game crashes everx time at the same position. Tried other grafic settings. Undercloecked my grafic card. Nothing. Nothign helps me. Why is the game so much buged??? This is not nice. I played another game from the developers. 20 hours without any game crashes. Why does this game not work? I cannot play this game. I want my money back.

If you are having issues with Tomb Raider there are several things you can try (just telling us you want your money back is NOT helpful - how about providing some information regarding your system configuration - cpu, gpu, installed ram, operating system, desktop or laptop, etc...)

Try the following:

Validate your game files.
Update your graphics drivers and make sure you've installed all updates & patches to the OS.
Re-install DirectX from the redist sub-directory in your Tomb Raider folder.
Try running the game at lower settings (normal or high) before trying ultra or ultimate.
Turn off exclusive fullscreen, vsync or tressFX and see if the game perfoms better.
Don't run any utilities like FRAPS.
If you have an Nvidia gpu, try the GeForce Experience to configure the game.

Are you running any keyboard mapping or joystick/gamepad software that might interfere with the game? The game has been out for almost a year and many of the issues have been resolved - the community is pretty good about providing support, but you have to be willing to work with us (or buy a console version...) ;P

Game crash every time after one minute or 10 minutes.
i3770k, 16GB Ram, Radeon 7950, Catalyst 14.1 beta, Win 8.1 x64. Checked files and new DirectX. Changed grafic settings several times.
After 5 or 6 tries i was able to play the extra dlc adventures tomb.
Now i am have first time a gun but the games crashes again and again.
15 crashes in maybe 90 minutes of gameplay. I am playing over 20 years games. Never has such a problem. This is the crash bug game of the universe.

Try Catalyst 13.4 WHQL. / Versuche den Catalyst 13.4 WHQL Treiber, damit läuft mein TR aufm 2. Rechner ohne Probleme (AMD Radeon 7870)

13.4? Nein danke. Das Ding ist ja ewig alt. Für andere Spiele benötigt man wesentlich neuere Treiber. Neuere treiber haben zudem die ganzen Bugfixes drin. Also dürfte ein neuerer Treiber eher besser funktionieren.

Not sure why you guys with newer systems and video cards are having issues with Tomb Raider when I'm running it fine on nearly 3-year old hardware (desktop - AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition, AMD Radeon HD 6870 1 GB, 16 GB DDR3 ram, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (1920x1080 - ultra or ultimate settings), laptop - Intel Core i5 480M, AMD Radeon HD 6370M 1 GB, 8 GB DDR3 ram, Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit (1366x768 - high settings)...)

I don't think it's the game, but it IS very sensitive about the hardware - are you sure that your systems aren't experiencing some heating issue? The game is pretty taxing on graphics and if you are running a laptop with inadequate cooling or a desktop that needs to be cleaned out it's possible that you could be experiencing some of the crashes you mention.

New hardware is no guarantee of performance! Sometimes new architechture are victim to early driver development cycles!

Got any error messages to report?
Ryusan2113 Feb 16 @ 6:31pm
I just put mine together like a week ago. No dust there! lol I wish I had error reports but mine freezes my whole computer and I have to restart.

That's a hard lock! Which might mean bad drivers on your video or sound, and/or your system is not stable! Since you mention you only put it together recently, I would look for guide that will walk you through checking your system's stability, if you haven't already done so.

But, before that... have you any problem with any other games? Does it seem a random lockup?

Anyway, it's worth looking into your system stability and make sure you didin't forget to install sound drivers! It might help stability to use the proper drivers for your sound device instead of default windows drivers.

Good luck!

Ah i see. I play this league of legends and Tera. they work fine. Yeah I did that today got all my drivers from wherever they were made, I'll try looking up the stability, Thanks

I fixed my problem by underclocking my gpu clock and memory clock by 40 mhz. I haven't crashed yet so hopefully that fixed it.

Were you overclocked, or is this a test? When you say memory, do you mean computer RAM or video RAM?
