Goty upgrade for people who already own the game. [RESOLVED]
There should be a significant price difference for people who already own tomb raider to upgrade to GOTY edition compared to people who don't have the original yet. 15 € instead of 30 would still make the game itself only 15 € for people who don't have it yet , which is still a bargain and an fair to both groups.

Steam has deterred people from piracy like no initiative ever undetaken before, that is the best thing that happened to pc gaming in the last 15 years. Scams like this , duping people who paid for games full price when they came out , even paying months in advance is leaving a bad taste in their mouthes about doing so. Keeping up these practices will turn the tide again. Making people buy a game twice so they can get some dls at a reasonable price is not the way to go.

Friendly regards.

I see where you're coming from but the DLC is all online (which no one plays) and a few costumes for Lara that all look worse than her original outfit.

Crap like these "Buy It Again Edition(s)" have been happening for some time. But, considering it's a trend that isn't going away anytime soon, I'm not biting anymore. I've never had a problem with patience and I'm going to just wait for ♥♥♥♥ like this to come out for other games in the future instead of hopping on the rapewagon. Which is probably a good way to go. If enough people do it, maybe they'll change this terrible slap-our-consumer-in-the-face model.

I buy the majority of retail games when they go on sale - I don't need to play ANYTHING so badly that I can't wait a few months for the price to drop and for any major bugs or issues to be ironed out.

It's like buying a next generation console during the first year - there are really few games that take advantage of the hardware, the pricing is set for those people who want bragging rights and they don't do that much more than current gen hardware...

It can be soothing to assume other people are behaving in undignified ways different from your own. But don't be fooled sir , your imagination is lacking.

Me for example , I am unmarried , am a programmer , don't have a family , am not planning to make one. I don't spend my money on cars , drugs or exhuberant partying. I drive a moderately priced car with quite a few miles to the galon that gets me safely from point A to point B. I do however spend quite a bit of my earned money on computers , computer parts , consoles and antique hardware. I am far from being an exception. On a side note, I also have a healthy amount of dating and socializing going on mainly with people who are of the same mind set as myself, so don't think of me as a social pariah . Gaming is far from being what I do most but it is an integral part of my free time.

Buying a game when it comes out doesn't bruise my wallet. Nor does buying a video card every other generation.

All that being said, you could argue that for someone who has adequate funds, 30 euro is not a lot of money. That is beside the point, nobody likes feeling they have been scammed.

Not everyone playing computer games as part of thier free time is a teenager with pocket money.

Friendly regards.

I may not be understanding your complaint-- but-- if you scroll down on the GOTY package page-- you can buy the DLC for $19 and change (not sure what that is in euro). Sounds like thats what you're looking for?

Edit: not on GOTY page but this page http://store.steampowered.com/app/203160/

Well if you notice the GOTY edition is just the standalone game with DLC tacked on. I only bought the DLC I wanted during the winter sale. I have my own GOTY edition. ;)

Yes , that is exactly what I was looking for .

Buy Tomb Raider DLC Collection
Includes 26 items

Buy Tomb Raider GOTY Edition
Includes 27 items

I had to go to the original Tomb Raider page though. This is not viewable on the GOTY page.

Thank you for pointing this out.

It would be good if Valve put a large sign saying "Upgrade your current version to GOTY edition" on the GOTY edition store page as well.

Also , the game itself in the package being only half the price of the DLC pack .. meeeh.. I'll live I guess but 15 / 15 instead of 10/20 would have been a little closer to the mark. Still , I am glad to see I was wrong about having to buy the game again if you want the complete dlc pack at a reasonable price.

Regards.
