Your VAC ban is permanent and will not be lifted under any circumstances, it doesn't matter if your friend "invited" you to use the hack and told you, you don't get banned for it (which is mostly wrong as you can see).

Cheating or Hacking is against the Term of Service (Security & Enforcement Policy[community.callofduty.com]) in Black Ops 2 and same as for Valves Steam Subscriber Agreement.

If you want to continue playing Black Ops 2, create a new Steam Account and rebuy it, also make sure you remove the cheat or hack otherwise if the cheat or hack is still present in the memory, it will trigger a VAC ban again.

I have a question do you get banned from all forms of online play in BO2 if you just hack in Zombies?

In any event good to see cheaters being banned, I expect tons more of these threads as the bans kick in from Holiday Sales.
