Black ops 2 wont start up

every time i click on any of the three black ops games, (zombies, multi, single) none of them start, it just goes to a black screen and nothing. just last night the game was running fine, on max settings and all that but right when i got off, and then got back on a few hours later, it just wouldnt start up. i would really like to know why this is.

REALLY ♥♥♥♥♥ me off ae just brought it today and it just goes to a black screen... steam should ♥♥♥♥ off and just let games be installed and played straight away

and i bet you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ 5 bucks that they wont refund it to you either. here, try this, go to your steam apps and all that, go to common, click black ops II go to players and delete Hardware. the shorter one, there are two hardwares, delete the one with less ♥♥♥♥ on it. it may work for you then, worked for me, once. then it stoped working.

Try rebooting your computer. If that fails verify your game cache for all three games. If neither works try what is suggested above, move or rename the folder called players in the game install location.

If none of that works what are your computer specs?

oh, yea, the graphics card is an Nvidia Geforce 555m, and yes ive updated the drivers.

There was a work around that I saw for laptops on another thread:
1.Go to nividia control panel
2.Go to manage 3D settings
{連結已移除}3.In global settings make it High Performance Nividia processor
{連結已移除}4.In program settings, make it intergrated graphics
5. Then click apply

I had to update my drivers and do a full reinstall of steam to get the game to work....had to redownload the game again too -_- but that worked for me.

Try the fixes here but you at the very least MUST update ot the latest nvidia beta drivers (310.61), as well as doing what @a21389 said

i cant update my drivers? when i download it theres a trojan warning and it deletes it... i managed to not delete 1 and it started to install but come up with an error :/

I had same problems with screen freezing when loading the game and the game consequently crashing. The way round it for me to get it to work on my laptop was to load the game up using my intergrated graphics which allowed the game to run and then change the game to a windowed screen instead of full screen, still using maximum screen resolution though. It worked for me so thought you could give it a go?

From initial install Black ops II would initiate STEAM Start Black Ops II and then jump back to Desktop.
Audio was still active but Black Ops II had minimised.
Every time I clicked Black Ops II Icon on task bar it would open flicker then minimise. Audio still ok.

I tried all known fixes. Graphics, Drivers, uninstall, Reinstall, Reboot, Glass of water LOL.
THe FIX !!!!!
Un Install Bing DeskTop !!!!
I replicated the same problem repeatedly by reinstalling BING DESKTOP and the Issues return every time.

UNINSTALL BING DESKTOP!!!!! That easy.
