hkship.exe not responding for sleeping dogs.
is this something that steam has to fix themselves, or is there something i can do? i've tried some things, but i'm reinstalling it now. just really sucks, i've had it for a week and it freezes before it gets to game play. other games work. anything you can tell me about it?

The only general things I can recommend it to ensure your graphics driver and operating system are up-to-date. If this does not help you, I would try to find help in the specific game forum.

I've been working on this for 2 days stright. Reading quite a few "so called fixes" but I think I have found a solution to my crashes. I'm running Win7 64 ultimate, Phenom II X6 1100t BE, GTX 560ti. In my MB's bios (I think also in the mscofig on win7 run comand) I can dissable cores on my cpu. Games only need X2 cores anyway. So I dissabled 2 of my cores and went from this game CTD (crash to desktop) after 10min with no error or the hkship.exe stop responding error. To a session of game playing of over 3hr's straight. Hope this workaround will help some of you guys to be able to play the awsome but poorly tested game.

I also downloaded Sleeping Dogs and it won't play. I have to use Task Manager to close it. I have a new XFX R7870 Black Edition card with the latest drivers installed. It's getting frustrating.

I also have the XFX 7870 Ghz BE Double D and i am running into the same exact problem. I even got this game bundled with my 7870, would have thought they would work together...
