This game is an odd one. The design makes it charming enough to see what it has to offer... but the gameplay is lacking and I find myself doing the same stuff over and over. There isnt enough to do to make me feel like this game is worth playing in depth.
The characters are quirky and delightfully vile. Delivering "saturday morning cartoon bad guy" levels of evil to the story. Its nice to be the villain every once in a while. Its a relaxing game to cool off and fool around with at the end of a long day, or when listening to a pod cast.
The slow and unengaging gameplay almost makes combat a chore. Most fights can be broken down to "Send units into problem until WIN happens". Most attempts to add strategy to the mix fall flat to unit spam. Lack of content and uneventful multiplayer make this game have little replay value.
In the end, I would give this game a pass. Unless you are looking for an easy RTS/Dungeon builder for your 7 year old, this game is worth little more than just messing around when you have nothing better to do.
