Surprisingly, I am enjoying this game far more than I should although I do wonder if anyone else plays it.
I figured a brief 'eh' game for $2.50 and I bought the four spare helicopters with a spare dollar so when I started playing it I started to really enjoy it.

However looking at the Achievements for Global and seeing that almost nobody has done any of them as well as looking here and seeing no writing, it makes me ask - Does anyone play this game other than me? If you haven't tried it yet, I highly suggest it but if you can, buy either the Night or the Osprey copter when you buy this...it helps so much to use them while getting Stars.

I picked it up too and with a 360 controller it plays really smooth. I've heard it doesn't play as well with mouse keyboard which might be why it doesn't have a lot of players. I loved the classic choplifter and this updates pretty much how I would expect so yeah really underrated game.

Yeah, I was shocked but Mouse/Keyboard works great and I would gladly buy an expansion or a sequel if one would come out.

This is a fun game if you have an XBox 360 controller, but it gets difficult pretty quick.

I'm pretty sure that the pickup bloop is a SID sample from the classic C64 game.

...Perhaps but it is still a game after a few weeks that I still find fun. I sure would like the ability to change the stats of the helicopters more but you can only do so much in a text file.

Seems this game was poorly advertised, I never heard of it and usually I keep an eye out for stuff InXile works on.

If anyone knows some "Let's Play"er tell them to give this game a go.

Easy, I used a "Trainer" program the first time to help out but the second time it was easier. The best advice is only use the worlds WORTH using and not colonize every one. Also, watch your happiness as it truly is in my opinion, the most important thing to have. Trust me, the higher happiness, the more people and that leads to more money and people.

In fact, I will only adopt a -10+ happiness planet if it has either something to add happiness or has something worth mining that I truly need.

I baked away many hours on the Sega Genesis ChopLifter version. I was surprised at the detail but aggravated at the (mouse) laser-sighting (cross-hair disappears) glitch which made ChopLifter HD feel hampered, to say the least. Still playable, but knowing it had more to offer. I picked up an Xbox 360 wired controller and laser aiming with it is spot on; the playability/addiction factor went up exponentially. I can't stop playing; please don't call the authorities.... =o If you ever played/enjoyed ChopLifter, buy this. (use the Xbox 360 wired controller) ...and yes Bud; we're out here. "I'm Captain Knievel, and I'm a ChopLifter-aholic". We hear you and obey... =)

I use a lazor mouse and I'm fine. But yeah, even knowing I stopped playing for quite some time, I still enjoy this game...just time trying all the games I bought long ago and never played.

I've given this game a go recently, buying it in a steam sale a while ago (thinking nostalgia), & my son in now madly into helicopters (he's 2...) so i loaded it up, finding it quite enjoyable. Much harder than i remember it being...

...pretty much same here. I have a two year old son as well and my fiance and I were talking about games from our extreme youth. Sure, this has color but still...

The only problem I have with this game is the lack of checkpoints, starting missions over boils me.
Stefanzi Jul 12, 2013 @ 12:22am
The lack of checkpoints is a bit of a probnlem as some levels are long- having said that though I have had a couple of hours evaporate going for 5 stars in some of the harder levels. I just keep restarting. You can switch the difficulty after you have selected a mission and change it to Training but I wouldn't want to sully the feeling I gewt when I finally make it through a pain of mission.
