Of all the possible ways to make a game about running your own airline, AT2 chose the worst conceivable one. Sure, I've only played 44 minutes as of writing this paragraph, and sure, those 44 minutes occurred 3.5 months ago, but the awfulness was so indellibly printed on my subconscious that even looking at the title I get angry.
The idiotic cartoonishness of the whole thing has the potential to be the worst thing about the game. I get it, it's not real life, but that doesn't mean it should look like a game made for 5-year-olds (unless it IS made for 5-year-olds, in which case I feel a little silly now...).
The UI is absolutely horrendous. Want to buy a new plane? You have to navigate your ridiculous-looking avatar through a side-scrolling terminal at an abysmally slow pace. Want to set up a new route between cities? Run through the same stupid terminal at the same slow pace back to the control room. Then, try to figure out the cryptic route planner. Made a mistake planning the route? Good luck figuring out how to undo it.
If this were the first ever "tycoon" game, maybe I could be a little more forgiving, but they have plenty of good examples to work from and they still managed to screw it up.
Well, I've vented my rage, so now I can go back to something else.
