This is not a game for the faint of heart.
Toki Tori 2 has perhaps the best game design of anything I've played recently. There is hardly any tutorializing, and each new section requires you to figure out how new mechanics work, or use existing mechanics in a way you hadn't thought of. Synthesizing the tiny bits of knowledge about how your stomp and whistling affect the environment into a working solution requires plenty of critical thinking, and I must admit I found the game frustrating for the longest time, because I was almost in a perpetual state of "being stuck" on every new puzzle I attempted.
But the game made me feel incredible smart once I did figure how the world works and mastermind a series of actions to solve what are seemingly impossible puzzles. The solutions are never obvious, and more than often I found myself thinking, "There's no way to solve this. ...Wait, is it possible for me to do XYZ? There's NO WAY that's the solution; that's far too devious." And then it is.
If you're looking for an incredibly well-made and difficult puzzle-platformer, whose difficulty springs from your ability to think rather than any inherent unfairness, well then my friend, this is a must-buy.
