Just bought tc and ap
New to X3, and was wondering about ap. Should I start playing tc first, or jump into ap. I understand it is an expansion, but if I start playing tc will I be able to "turn on" ap later with my tc character or should I just start playing ap and do it all at once? Not really sure how the expansion works.

ap is the upgraded version of tc and ap has more ways to learn and to make money like the stock exchanche in tc its a lot harder but ap is more combat orinted then tc so if u want more acton and a easier learning experience go with ap but its all up to u

It is an expansion, but they are two separate games. No transfer of character or anything from one to the other. TC is a little more forgiving for new folks and has more plots to follow. AP takes place in the middle of a bigger war but it does have some game upgrades compared ot TC. Personally, I love TC and have played nearly 300 hours and plan on playing AP if/when I finish all the things to do in TC.

Go with humble merchant... I played for over 100 hours doing all sorts of trading and trade empire building and barely had any fight rank gains... once I firmly established my profittsss ($$$$$) I have started venturing into warfare

The lack of the stock market is actually a reason why I haven't played TC yet and have stuck with AP. I'm not sure how to make money outside of the stock market honestly lol...it is just too easy. 10mil credits in, wait a couple of minutes, 25mil credits upon cashing out.
