Capping a Xeon L.....NEED HELP!
Hi,

I've been stuck at this mission for god knows how long, not matter what ship a use they simply dont bail out for me and now with the recent update I would like to give it another round.

Can anyone please give me some hints on how to get them to bail?? am using my Kyoto with PBGs at the front and the Terran version of flack arry (for got the name) on the rest of the turrents. Also I have a Griffon Sentinel with flack arrays and and HEPCs.

dont use such powerful weapons, bail checks dont start getting made until targets health is at 80%. After that each shot on his hull causes a bail check. The more shots you hit with the more chance of a bailout. Further the chance increases again at 60%, 40%, 20% hull. Using weak weapons like IRE or PAC will be much more effective, terran weapons are bad for bailing because their weakest weapon does more dmg than HEPT. Fight rank also plays a part it is much easier to make a target bail with high fight rank than low fight rank. Best ships to use to make fighters bail are fighters.

Load an m7 with flak on all turrets, id go with just one or two per side. Just fly around through swarms of L's and hope for the best. Had my best luck in 101, but you have to fly away from the caps that sometimes spawns.

My fight rank is high enough to spawn Qs when I take up Xeon hunting missions. Am afraid that am not confidant enough in my skills to try to take them on with a fighter.

As for the powerful weapons (PBG,HEPTs) I dont use them on the small ships, just on the larger ones that can kill me. I leave the turrets to attack the smaller ships in hope one of them will bail.

I did try something like that with my Kyoto, just with the terran version of Flak. Went to 101 and ended up clearing the sector with nothing bailing on me. :(

I might give it a go with the regular flacks on a M7.

Using a Springblossom with EEMPCs on the front and PSSC all around, I just sat in Grand Exchange and let them come out. I ended up with a couple Ms and an LX as well. But it took a while to remember that shift-F is your friend, as I regularly ran straight into bailed ships if I was going full speed.

Use weapons with a high fire rate but low damage. That way, you get more bail checks, and you don't run the risk of overkilling it so much. PBEs are the way to go.

This mission always infuriated me. The best thing to do is get an M7 or smaller (Kyoto doesn't make much sense for this) and load them with weapons like PAC, PBE, and IRE. Then just hope to get lucky.

I personally gave up after hunting them for 3 or 4 days and just cheated one in.

I guess I'll be giving the M7 a try, I really dont want to go modified but if it doesnt work I'll have no choice.

I have also a problem with the plot to capture a L. I try for days now to capture one. Anyone have some more tips, like how did you did it, ship, weapons, etc. etc.
I did try a lot, reading about it on the net and so. But didn't get one :(

There is no advice to help with this that has not already been offered. Bails are completely random. That means there is no way to predict when one will happen. The only way to increase your chance of bails is to use low damage high frequency weapons. The calculation for bails starts at 80% hull that is when the first bail check occurs. Every single shot that hits from that point on causes a bail check. Low damage weapons get more bail checks (read chances to capture the thing).

The first L I captured and this is purely if memory serves, I was flying a nova prototpe and used PACs. The one after that i was flying a Griffon and the L got chewed by my Flaks. The 4 L's I have captured since, well I stopped caring or paying attention to how it was done, it is a random chance, every time.

I had the same problem and searched like an idiot in the internet for help.
The truth is luck, luck and luck.

My tip is use an Griffon, install every where Flak Cannon and jump to an Xenon Sector. I would say go to a Xenon Sector without any Capital Ship. Or better without Qs.
Then fly arround in this Sector. The Xenon came be herself, they are fast enough. Befor my L, I got M, N and LX.

But when a L is free. SAVE the GAME, SAVE IT.
Then say to the L dock on my ship and jump out there.
