Running through Steam + Windowed Mode
TL;DR:
Like Windowed Mode? Running Win7 64? Don't run it through steam. Make a shortcut of "EQII.exe" in your EQ2 folder and that'll run the patcher like normal.

Hey guys! I just figured out an INCREDIBLY annoying issue I was having recently. So I decided to grab EQ2 on steam and log hours easily that way.

It turns out if I run it through steam, in windowed mode, I get windows alert sounds every time I use ALT and any other key. Not only that, whenever I switch from full to windowed it just jerks around forever. Also, pressing Alt or F10 alone freezes the screen. I can move in the background but it'll look frozen until I click anywhere on the game window.

I'm a multi-tasker, and the past few days stuck in Full Screen were horrible. Seriously, #firstworldproblems. Also, disabling the in-game community crap doesn't do ♥♥♥♥.

Weird, it works for me, the only issue I have is that it doesn't actually launch in full screen, but full sized windowed where every on screen button is a little bit off - so when I try to hit the Play button on the character select screen, it actually presses the Delete button (thankfully there's the confirmation dialogue before it actually deletes). I have to press alt enter twice to switch to actual full screen mode in order to get it to work properly, but then the Steam overlay and all that stuff works flawlessly.
