Been a long time
The last MMO that I actually took the time and played that gave me that sense of accomplishment was the original EQ. I'm thinking about trying to play a new one and of course EQ 2 would be high on that list. I honestly don't know what the point of this thread was because it's F2P for me to try it out I guess my only question is what are the restrictions placed on F2P players?

My personal opinion is: For a F2p Game its crap. If you want to Pay for it its brilliant.

Not like the Old EQ1. But in my opinion the best of all those modern MMORPGs.
But i would not play it without the offer to have a "real" account.
If i play a MMORPG i want to play every class, every Race and wear every item the game offers. I dont want to pay exta for everything.
So im really happy to pay my little fee every month to get the full game and not a part of it.

To be more specific:
You can only play Neutral Races, only some specific Classes, your Money is limited, and you cant wear Legendary Items.
You can still do everything in the game as far i know. And you can be "ok" equipped with Mastercrafed Armor. Some ppls in my Guild are F2P Players and they enjoy it. But it would be to much restrictions for me.

If you dont know just make a F2P Acc. and if you like the game make an Gold Acc.

Hey thanks for the opinion. I started out last night and started a Barbarian it was my personal favorite race from the old school EQ so it was nice to see them offered as a free race. Gonna give it a shot and see how hooked I get to know if it's worth the monthly fee

I started out as a F2P player too. However, im a broker addict...both for selling and buying :D I upgraded to subscription and purchased the expansions after about 3 weeks of play as the merc made instances easier to solo and i also liked maximising my toons potential with as many top level spells as i could get my hands on. Kind of important as a healer i guess :) The bag space made exploring easier as well, with less trips back to town mid quest to empty them out. The end game raid content has been very enjoyable in my opinion too! Really hope you're enjoying the EQ2 experience as much as i have been! :D
