This is one of those games that you gift as a prank, or to someone who doesn't mind a game so bad it provides laughs. I, for one, fall into the latter category and was gifted this game by a friend. Thing is, other than some of the terrible dialogue (Corey's "Oh yeah" everytime he picks up health never ceases to get a chuckle) and odd design choices, the game is just sort of lackluster.
It's not as outright terrible as Secret of the Magic Crystals or Bad Rats (ESPECIALLY Bad Rats), it has some broken/not quite right mechanics at play, but it's not really enough to get any humour out of the game. Gameplay can be fairly frustrating, with enemies coming out of what feels like nowhere (not in the cool L4D2 sense of that phrase, where the level design complimented large amounts of enemies rushing at you and kept action tense and enjoyable) as well as poorly pointed out objectives.
At the end of the day (and this shoddy review), Revelations 2012 is one of those games that yeah, you can get a laugh with some mates if you play it together and have the right group of people, but as it stands it's just a lackluster and boring game with some occasional moments that might (emphasis on MIGHT) make you chuckle.
tl;dr Bad game, worth the price of admission if you know what you're getting and you derive some ironic form of entertainment from crappy games such as Bad Rats, otherwise leave it be.
