Was playing as Curly Brace

First time playing Cave Story+ on steam. Graphics were remastered and season sprite were on. I turned of season sprite and noticed I was playing as Curly Brace. Changed to original graphics and I'm back to Quote. Is there a way to change it back? I never played Cave Story+ so I just assumed you could play as her.

It seems you were playing as her without unlocking her...
To unlock her, you have to find her... eh... "panties"... ^_^

Well, that's a glitch. A funny one, as well. But just so you know, there's a way to unlock Curly Story, and I believe it's what the post above me posted. I never noticed I unlocked it with the panties... I don't even remember pretty well how I did. Still, what you said is indeed a glitch.
