This Game Needs A New Game+
This is one of my favorite platform shooters, but after playing through the game multiple times, I've always felt that it's not really until after getting the upgraded booster that the game starts to differentiate itself gameplay-wise from other similar titles. I think you should have the option to play through the game again with everything you've collected (besides the tow rope, air tank, and iron brace for story purposes).

You only barely have a chance of convincing NICALiS to do something similar in the Switch version.

Oh I'm not expecting results.

It's been what, 4 years and the game still doesn't launch properly on Mac?

Try playing the original cavestory, then Jenkas nightmare. It's not a sequel, but it's a mod with a new game + feature. And it feels damn well like a sequal

Well, if you manage to get "best" ending, the game unlocks Curly Story and some challenges.

In the original PC version you can use Save Editors to give yourself any items or equipment you want, even at the beginning. I've used them to do a 'New Game +' type playthrough where I give myself all the weapons and items I want and see how fast I can speed through to the final boss, or how I can mess up the normal sequence of events.

How was that, did you enjoy it?

Yeah, it's pretty fun. I enjoy Sequence Breaking in games so it was perfect for me.
