Liked TL1 for about the first half of the game, then got bored. Should I get TL2?
I thoroughly enjoyed Torchlight 1 for about the first half of the game, but after that it got really repetitive and kind of boring. Finding loot wasn't that fun anymore, and I almost never found any which was actually an upgrade. TL2 has been on my radar though, and wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to whether or not I should pick it up, given that I got bored out of the repetitiveness of the first one.

TL2 is way better than TL1. So yes get TL2, especially if you like the genre.

wait till you fight the vyrax dragon in tl2 act3. alternatively u can wait when tl3 launches and tl2 is just the cost of a burger in mcdonalds.

According to the official Torchlight 2 website it is planned for Torchlight 2 to go on sale during the upcoming Thanksgiving sale(American Thanksgiving always lands on second last Thursday of November)

It might be best to wait until then to pick it up, as you will save money.

Not to mention when it finally will be integrated in the Steam Workshop, I'll see 1000's of great and fun innovative new adventures, mobs, maps, areas, ideas and maybe even total conversions heading towards us :)

Thanks guys, I think I'll pick it up on the next good sale. I had heard about the Thanksgiving sale and it's what made me start thinking about it :)

And yeah, the workshop will be really nice once the mod editor comes out; the mod possibilities in this type of game are a big reason why most of my friends and I are very inttrigued.

Better solution then waiting for the sale. Just download the demo and play that for a while. If you like it, then you'll buy it even if you wait til it's on sale. If not, you'll even save the money that you might pay for it on sale. That makes more sense to try the demo then to spend money on the game esepcially if T1 never really grabbed you. And you do realise these games are all about getting better loot, right, so of course it will be repetitive :P
