Still bugged, do NOT purchase
The game has been out for 3 months now and, as you'll see with many of the posts here and on the Runic forums, many people continually lose their game progress (how much of the campaign they have completed) or their character progress (level 30 characters being reset back to level 10, for example).

Of course, Runic blames this on the end user. They tell us to do things such as disable Steam Cloud Sync and to constantly back up our save files, and if we don't, well then that's our problem. And if you DO those things, the problem still persists.

A new patch was just released, and yet this patch does not address the issue. I guess having a couple of additional pets was more important than being able to play the game.

Save your money. Pass on this game.

YMMV. I'm having a great time with the game.

This is a cloud sync issue, not a Torchlight issue. It happens when players don't let the game sync every time and then accidentally download an old savegame from the Steam Cloud. Nothing to do with the game, nothing the developer can fix. This will never happen automatically, you are always asked whether you want to download the data from the cloud or upload the data from your hard drive if they differ. It also shows which data is older and which is newer.

What an utter BS Post :D Games great and works fine, and everything that doesn't get's it's Patches. And even those are for minor stuff in my opinion

lol i agree with everyone else, no problem whatso ever! An amazing game and even if it was double the price it would be a must own game! Buy it!

Have never EVER lost my character progression because I AWLAYS upload to the cloud.

The only time I did lose something is when the 1st update rolled in and I lost my shared stash which had some potions(lol) in it.

If end users don't know how Cloud system works, they should educate themsleves.

As for bugs/glitches, yeah, there might still be some, but not enough to pass up this very good game.

Nope, 24 hours played not a single issue.

i was the one who made the Big thread after the latest patch, and runic released a patch very quickly to fix it. I havn't had issues since the patch fix. and i would encourage people to buy it because i've already put 288 hours into it and still enjoy playing it.

Definitely a cloud synch problem. Learn to use it, I had the problem elsewhere but learned my lesson.

When I first started to use steam, I had a few issues with my character syncing properly. It was all my fault. I wasn't waiting long enough for my account to sync with the cloud. Now when I am done playing, I close torchlight II and wait for it to finish syncing before I close Steam. EASY as can be.

As for the gameplay and bugs I see people post around here, I haven't experienced any. This is a fantastic game. I have been very happy with it. The only thing I could ask for is the old ability to upgrade gems by combining them.

Perhaps if Gamequirk shows a little more patience, then Gamequirk will find there aren't so many issues.

Using backups for my saves. Try it. Also, in 3 months, I only crashed twice during the recent patch. No other issues.
bullsear Nov 18, 2012 @ 1:35am
I've crashed twice in close to 100 hrs of gameplay, and I have never lost character progress.

Bottom line ? Original poster is nothing more than a troll and wanted some replies to this thread. People stop replying and giving the troll the attention he desperately seeks.
