What is the best for Berserker?
Hi everyone,

I am playing Berserker atm and i start with 2x one-handed weapons but after i reach lvl 16 i tried 2-hand weapon and it was great, and i saw that 2-handed weapon let me refill my frenzy faster than 2x one-handed weapons due to the high crit occurence. so what do you think guys? is it better to stick with 2-handed weapon or 2x one-handed weapons?

Thank you

If you use the same type of 1h weapons. It can boil down to execute chance. One handed weapons are also normally quicker in attack rate than two handed weapons. I'd look through your skill trees, and find out whether any attacks rely on certain weapons. The weapons you start with are claw weapons I believe, so there maybe some skills that only claw weapons work on.

So the choice of wanting to worry about the execute proc or skills that rely on certain weapons, will probably be what decides it for you.

Also, if any skills talk about execute chance or anything like that, possibly even a passive, that's when two one handed weapons of the same type is what's needed for those: example: 2 wands, 2 maces, 2 claws, 2 swords, etc.

I think 2-handers are more for Engineer than Berserker.
it just leaves your Zerk stuck between the raw power of dual-weapons and the defensive comfort of a shield. Engineers make up for that with skill-based defensive buffs and 2-hander attack speed passive. Zerks don't.
also, Red Wolf passive takes care of the 2-hander's arc-hit advantage.

Thanks, but same as shield, seems engineer is better with shield then zerks.

maybe, but shield is what keeps me from getting 1-shot on high level Mapworks.
I go in with a shield, then quickly switch to my dual claws for maximum damage output.
you need to be able to take (or dodge. or block) damage as well as dish it out. for this purpose, a shield is good for everybody. especially on Elite and/or high levels.

So it's no possible to use 2x one handed and survive? lame that you MUST use shield :(

shield gives you dodge+block - which alternate to give you one hell of a defense in case both are close to 50%. you can literally survive mobs with level +30 of your own on Normal.

no shield leaves you just with dodge, in which case you'll need the attack speed + chance to execute + chance of critical + charge building that dual weapons give you as a Berserker.

using a 2-hander as Zerk leaves you just with dodge AND without the offense.
